I received this letter and have questions for the powerful and knowing GHS gurus.
1. Is this exception good for the mineral owner?
2. What is the significance of the 2000' contour line.
3. Regarding this specific letter what are the implications for someone in 15n 14w sec 19?
Chesapeake has requested the same thing regarding 15n 14w sec 31. The Chesapeake letter came from a different attorney but says basically the same thing. I can post that plat as well if anyone needs it.
Thanks in advance I appreciate the input as always. R
Ronny, I just sent you a friend request
Good for the mineral owner in section 24 or the ones in section 19? Indigo unitized 19 months ago but hasn't made any well applications to my knowledge.
A good thought, Jay. I certainly agree with that.
The 2000' line is a radius as opposed to a contour line. This alternate unit well application is asking the Office of Conservation to approve well spacing where horizontals are beginning to be drilled in a unit that was set up for and includes existing vertical wells. Both verticals and horizontals will be completed in the same CV formation depth definition.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
