Charles,

No news from the Ruston area, other than getting an invitation to sell my rights for 36 times my average monthly royalties which amounts to nothing at this time. The offer even came with a check for $250.

I see the last posting was 21 Aug...... does anyone have any news?
My current lease expires in March and that company hasn't even driven through the area. Don't know why they bought the lease from the original company.

Gosh. I don't know how to tell you. I bought the property 12 years ago. I go down Jimmy davis Tabernacle road from Chatam and turn right past a old cemetary. It's the West 35 acres in NE 1/4 of NE 1/4 of section 7,T.15N.,R2W. I hope you can help me with some info.

Daniel,
I'm trying to figure out on a map where your property is located in Jackson Parish. My property is near the south end of Caney Lake in Section 1, T. 14N., R. 2W.

Is anybody leasing at all in Jackson Parish? I have 35 acres section 7,T.14N.,R2W that was leased by Andarko several years ago. When Lease ran out I was begged to release but didnt because of property dispute. That has since settled. Is there any activity at all? Petrohawk called yesterday but havent heard back.

I'm located in southeast Louisiana but have property in southern Jackson Parish next to Caney Lake. I check the state's Department of Natural Resources's website, www.sonris.com. I look under the "Conservation" heading and then the "Hearings" section for the listing of hearings scheduled for new well permits. This lets me know what wells have been permitted in the parish and where they are located. There's only been one well drilled in this area recently and it was unsuccessful in the James Lime zone.

Hi, I am new to this group. We are three sisters which own 30 acres in Jackson Parish and would like to keep informed of any timber, gas, and oil activity in this area. This land is located off Louisiana Hwy 4, 8 miles outside of Chatham. Any information you can share would be appreciated.

So what's going on here lately? Are the OetG guys still leasing? I havent been on the site much lately. Any news for Jackson Parish yet? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

My wife, her sister, and mother own 75 acres in Jackson Parish in sections 21 & 22 that straddle Hwy 167 located about 6 miles south of Ruston. I am trying to track any information about the HS and will monitor this site for that purpose. My understanding is that it might take a year or more to determine if the formation is prevalent enough for productive dirilling in Jackson. Thanks for any information that you can provide.

Hello Ashley, sscotts33, Michael Watts and Gray C. Sands, I live in Northern DeSoto Parish and will share with you what's going on over here. To start out, it's a mad house! Drilling everywhere, landmen fighting over the few acres left not leased, the roads are being destroyed by water trucks and drilling rigs moving around, and new construction every week on O&G company buildings, offices and yards. Our sleepy little community has been rudely awakened! The average signing bonus right now is around 18k to 20k with a 25 % royalty figure. The big four have slowed down on the leasing and are focusing more on drilling. They need money to lease land out ya'lls way. I've seen maps where the shale has been found over in Mississippi. It's only a matter of time before they'll be knocking on your door. Don't let 'em rush you. You're in a better position to get more than we did. The longer it goes on the better deal you get. I'll stay in touch
