I am hearing word that there is some leasing activity in NW Winn parish. Shallow leases the offer that I heard about was for $100 / acre, don't know anymore details.  Anyone aware of this activity? Any details?

Devon has filed a new  permit for a location in the White Oak Creek

field.  Very long lateral in this new attempt.  Very encouraging that

Devon is still drilling this area.  Any other thoughts on this new

attempt.  thx

Donner Properties owns the servitude or fee lands where the Devon Mooringsport well is located.

Skip,  Who was Devon's partner in first well. Good to see them continuing

with drilling operations.  Maybe each completions will give them additional information for better completion techniques.

The permitted horizon for the Devon-Donner wells is the Mooringsport formation which is oil bearing.  I don't have any information concerning seismic.  There are now two of these wells.

What type of minerals is Devon drilling for at Atlanta la. I noticed from the discussion from the main page that the well is listed as a wildcat well. Has any previous seismic testing have been done prior to drilling in this area or is the drilling basis on this from previous drilling which produced from different formations.

We've been contacted by a landman wanting to lease our land in Winn Parish for $150/acre, 20% royalty. That's sounds like a low-ball offer to me, but I'd like to hear what other folks think? If that is a low-ball offer, then what would be considered a reasonable offer? Are there any other offers being made in Winn Parish? Thanks, Jack

Joe. I think the shale may reach to the far northwest corner of Winn Parish but that's just a guess on my part based on the direction and speed of current step out development. I am not familiar with any coal bed methane prospects in LA.
