Steve,

All that sounds great and from what I hear there may be activity picking up in W.Feliciana.  Where did you get that quote from Kirk?

The SLC well may be the one to change the focus towards the west.

I think these recent comments from geologist Kirk Barrel are encouraging for us in W. Fel.

He believes a telling production metric is developing in regard to the effects of thickness of the TMS pay zone in different areas. West Feliciana has a relatively thick TMS pay zone compared to most other areas. Additionally the TMS is deeper in W. Fel. which means a higher gas to oil ratio(GOR) and less clay/more calcite - higher GOR is good to a point because increased gas helps push the oil through the rock and to the surface, potentially increasing flow rates and/or reducing decline rates. Increased calcite means potentially easier to frack and potentially a better natural fractured matrix in the rock. All of this is untested yet since we haven't had but on well so far (Murphy drilled by Devon 2 years ago near the Ms. line)

Kirk says:

“With a net pay of 75' (GDP's recent Nunnery well), this result is not only expected, but good for the pay thickness. The GDP Lewis 30-19H-1 has 110' of net pay and had an initial potential of 1450 boepd.”

“The net pay in the Beech Grove of 95' will not likely compare in result with the SLC 81H-1 (157')”

Personally, I'm tickled to see some conversation about W.Feliciana associated with the TMS. Something we can all keep an eye on is the Smith well that's currently drilling and the proposed Morris well both in Wilkinson Co. Both of these look to have laterals that stop at the state line. The Morris will be more western than the others with the exception of the old Murphy well drilled by Devon. ( Unit application was filed for another well near there).

With all the activity to the north and east it's starting to feel like maybe there is interest in W.Feliciana

Good luck to all with interst here

Field Order 1364-D creates TMS RA SUA and TMS RA SUB in the Spillman Field.  At the time of the order TMS RA SUA in the NE Spillman Field was proposed and pending but not yet approved as noted on the unit plat.  In LA the unit naming system indicates the formation/zone, in this case Tuscaloosa Marine Shale (TMS).  The RA signifies Reservoir A.  SUA is Sand Unit A indicating the first unit for the TMS RA established in a field.

How long ago was "a while back"?

Comment by Dana Melancon on June 11, 2014 at 13:44
I know, mr skip, I'm not sure what I'm asking either, lol. We got a letter a while back stating the were 2 blocks of 995 acres side by side in which we fell into both. I was bacically wondering if they were the two that were being drilled in.. Sorry for all the mid understandings..
