Shelley,
The Texas Railroad Commission's website link is:

http://gis2.rrc.state.tx.us/public/startit.htm

It will put you on the Darling Washington Survey, Rusk County, Texas which is situated about 2 miles South of Kilgore. US 259 splits that survey. There are hundreds of oilwells in the Western half of the survey--most of them plugged. This area is possibly in the Haynesville Shale trend and well worth your further search.

That's about all I can find with the limited information you presented. Hope you can get title to your minerals.

Thank you for getting back with me... This is a nightmare for me... I have all these papers with land info on it and don't know where to start.. I know it is 182.5 acres and the last survey that I can tell was done, was in 2004. The land is referred to as the Darling Washington Survey Rusk Co. Tx... Do you know anything about this property? I am in Athens Alabama, about an hour and a half from Nashville....... Great Great Grandparents land...

My family owns land in Rusk County..( We ) my family were dislocated by the storm (Katrina) So we are not as close to ya"ll as we used to be... My Mother is a Harris, and along with her cousins, own acreage all over East Texas.. Most if not all of these people including my mother are up in age. So... I have been given the job !! I do not know where to start.. or... to find out if the "Land Man" is looking for them.
I would like to become part of this East Texas group, if you will have me.. Thanks and have a great day... Any help or suggestions, will be accepted with open arms....
Thanks....... Shelley

Addendum to post on 8-23...wells are not in Magnolia springs Field. They are in the Kirbyville area...even further south. If you could please give me your opinion about these, I will quit bugging you. Are they plain ordinary vertical oil/gas wells or are they possibly vertical test wells for HS? If I am wasting my time looking at this stuff I'd like to know that too...but I keep thinking that someone has to be testing for the south boundary, don't they?

Alamo,

Could you please take a look at the permitted wells in Jasper County and give me some perspective on what is going on down there. There have been several wells permitted in the last 3 months for depths of 14K' to 16K' (vertical) and that seems too deep for Austin Chalk wells.
The reason I ask is that we are being told that the shale is too deep to go after in the south end of Sabine Co. and yet they appear to be testing for it 25 miles south of me. I'd like to know if I am right or wrong about this.

The wells I am referring to are in the Magnolia Springs Field.

Thanks,

Julie

You are 100% correct about the O&G's...our lease expires in 16 days so it looks like we will be free to re-negotiate our 255 acres in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. My mother and her brother signed a lease in 2005 and had KCS/Petrohawk drilled or pooled our land...we would have only gotten 1/6 % royalty at $125/per acre bonus.

We do know KCS/Petrohawk have plans for a Delineation Well in our section. It had been planned to drill in 2007 which would have locked our lease and we would have been held by production for the rest of the wells life. How lucky are we that Cheasapeak started this land leasing freanzy in which probably delayed KCS/Petrohawk on completing their current plans to drill on our land.
Now...we are learning more and more about what is going on in our area and we will go to the table with much more knowledge in our back pockets!

I know the O&G's know more than they are saying...I keep telling my family we just have to be patient.

Jaybird
