Anyone have an opinion on this? This is pertaining to any given reservoir bench. Take any given unit that has been developed, whether it's four, six, eight laterals. In the early days, eight was…Continue

Obtaining producing well upgrade info on a well

Does anyone know if you can view what "major" work has been done on a well? Is a permit or a report required if they do something significant to improve the production, such as a refrac? Or install…Continue

How to find reported well costs

An early Louisiana Haynesville well... how, exactly, does one find the total drilling and completion costs of a well? I guess this is reported for severance tax issues; when does the operator make…Continue

"Great questions!  I will answer the easy question first - bottom hole pressure absolutely matters in shales.  Look at the productivity of wells in the far northern extents of the play vs. wells in the core.  They are not the same.Your…"

Infill drilling way down the line (spacing / benches)

Anyone have an opinion on this? This is pertaining to any given reservoir bench. Take any given unit that has been developed, whether it's four, six, eight laterals. In the early days, eight was common and would be laterals every 660 feet. Now, you see a lot of units with 'only' four laterals, so, double that spacing. Whether, it's four, six or eight, do you think that it's possible that drainage of each lateral is or will be much less than originally thought? And that more laterals could be…See More

"I don't see a 4-mile lateral on that notice, I see 3-mile, but I am sure it happened. Amazing that they can drill that far. Main question... what did they say about EUR? I would EUR per lateral foot would not increase, only total EUR per…"
