AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |

Ms Coffey,
I would like to apologize for my 2011 remark per the following: "voluntary dismissed" means settled out of court, payoff by CHK."
I have searched and made phone calls and attempted to find even the slightest info per your suit with CHK. Nothing but the Court notation of "voluntarily dismissed." .
IMO, and strickly IMO and several personal experiences, the "voluntarily dismissed" notation has meant some kind of out of Court "deal" was reached between the parties, and most deals involved money... especially when there is no statement, comment made following the "dismissal," by the parties.
My intent, statment was not to indict you, but to cite and follow the Court cases with CHK Energy, et al, as well as cite my/our problems with CHK Energy and their treatment/accounting of/for mineral owners/royalty checks/deductions/leases, etc.
IFirst I want to thank you for publicly setting the record straight concerning your lawsuit with CHK and the Court's citation of "voluntarily dismissed."
And, Second... Thank you for setting me straight...
I hope you will be successful in your efforts to hold you attorneys accountable in this matter.
GHS is the perfect forum for these discussions, again, IMO. I hope at some point you will be able to share with us (on GHS) more of your case's background and you efforts to get to the bottom of your Case's "voluntary dismissal."
And on a better foot forward... Welcome to GHS.
