Shelby County

St. Mary Land & Exploration Company completed the Black Stone PB Well No. 1 to 13,060 feet, 13.5 miles southeast of Center in the North Carthage Field. The well potentialed 711,000 cubic feet of gas on a 9-inch choke. Production is in the Bossier Shale.

Note: Before anyone gets too concerned over this IP... it's a vertical test.

Thanks, here's another vertical test of the Bossier Shale from NFR in northwest Shelby County, aprox. 7 miles northwest of Timpson (The Mitchell Trust #1A)

The interesting thing (to me) was the letter which explains who owns which rights to explore and what the target was in this well.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
