Where is Cypress Baptist Church?
It is at the Cypress Flora exit.If going North or south on I-49 get off and turn toward Hwy.1. cross tracks and the sign will be on your right (South) before you get to Hwy 1.Down that little bitty road about 1/10 mile on left.
If coming on Hwy 1 either north or south turn at 3 Jays four way store towards I-49. The cypress baptist church is on the left down about 1/10 mile.
Has any leasing started in the Flora area?
The meeting time has been changed to 6:30 pm. Call 1-800-638-1649 for more information.
The concern is for the ones that does not know enough to know you dont need to pay a percent to a lawyer of you lease bonus like i am sure he will be asking.........when there is others around here that just charge a one time fee to go over your lease for you ........and it will be the older folk that will be the target on this and the ones that does not know of this website to learn about it
if this is the same group that met in goldonna last week they wanted a 3 % of your lease so be careful guys if you are attending the mtg tonight.

The meeting at the Cypress Baptist Church was well attended. All seats were taken with people standing in the back. Senator Gerald Long spoke about his meetings regarding state owned land. He think it will be 2-3 years before the gas companies begin leasing south of Natchitoches. They have to use the limited number of drilling rigs they have to put the land already leased into production. They also have to build the infrastructure to transport the gas. He said the Messenger well has very good production. The quality is not the highest. He called it sour gas.
Police juror Mimi Stoker said the Natchitoches police jury is offering about 140 acres for lease in November and a larger acreage, maybe 1000 acres, in December. She believes leasing activity for us may begin as soon as the end of the year. Smaller companies may be in here first.
Russell Sisson, a local land owner, worked for a seismograph company for many years. He says they did work all over this area. He says "it" is down there about 14,000 to 16,000 feet in this area. In Boyce, it is about 25,000 feet deep.
Attorney, Rodney Harrington talked at length about the advantages of pooling and having someone knowledgable represent you. His sales pitch was really low key and he never asked anyone to sign anything. He did pass out a sheet to be filled out if a person wants to be contacted when he has information. Many questions were answered and the meeting lasted about 2 hours. Very informative. We just have to be patient and wait until the gas companies decide if we have something they need.
Everyone who spoke believes it is just a matter of time.
Magnolia,

Thanks for the info. good stuff.
Magnolia N4-Thank you for your review of last nights meeting. It's helpful to those of us who live out of state.
