FYI - lots of new information on changing out the LMRP with the new "sealing cap". Somewhat interesting pictures on the live feeds as well.

Today's briefing was interesting.

If I understand, the new cap could possibly allow them to simply "close the valve," but they're worried about the integrity of the well bore. i.e. maybe it's leaking around the pipe. The plan is to let the oil flow out, but they're hoping to capture all the oil until they can kill the well from the relief well. However, they're going to test shutting the well off, do a pressure test, and see if they can leave it shut off.
