I am very interested in hearing anything about potential leasing activity in Natchitoches Parish, particularly close to the I-49 interchanges.

has been some leasing in north natch. par. around ajax($13,100/acre). most of the property was leased a couple of years ago for pennys

There has been some leasing just W. of Marthaville on 1221 (Bethany Rd.)
I am on 120 between Robeline and Marthaville (Goat Hill). I have been contacted through this blog by a Landman. He took my info and is sending it up the chain. This is the only activity I know of nearest the W side of I-49. I am in T9NR9W.

A blogger on the tiger droppings blog posted last night that they had been at the Natchitoches courthouse and the clerks were extremely busy with landmen. They went on to say an employee there had indicated the landmen were somewhat secretive (would turn their paperwork over if you approached them. ) Anyone else in Natchitoches group heard anything along this line?

all depends on messenger well as to how far south in natch. parish. has anyone heard from the well ?

I was just reading on Topix on the Messenger Well and found this post and thought I would share it with everyone here. I hope this to be true it would be great news for us.


"Supposedly, a well drilled close to Pleasant Hill is going to be one of the top producing natural gas wells in the country. Cheasapeake employee told me that they are doing their 3D seismic shoot in south Natch. Parish and Grant Parish, also Rapides. It is now thought that the shale extends into those areas which would bring in the entire parish of Natchitoches. Rumor also has it that EnCana might drill a well down in south Natchitoches Parish close to Cane River. This might be great news for everyone who owns property in the Parish and would greatly enhance our economy! "

That question was asked at the pool meeting in June. The petroleum engineer said the shale extend at least to Campti - Many.

Does anyone know any information on land leasing near the Alligator Farm?
