I own 5 acres in sec 29 t 11 north-range 12 west. I was told by Chesapeake that a division order was in the works. I wonder if anyone else has any info. Thanks.

Robert,

I just received my division order today on a well that was turnd to sales on 01/12/2011. I own 1 acre in sec 12 T16N R14W. Now I need to hear from some experts regarding the language on the document. It says that I must execute it and return it by May 20 in order to receive royalty payment the end of May. I have read that I am not required to sign DO in order to receive payment. Info needed please...

If you choose to not sign the DO, you will still be paid Royalty. However, your payments may be delayed.

Also, make sure they have your SSN# or you will have a substantial amount witheld.

Thank You Baron... as always... gracious in sharing your knowledge as are so many on this great site.

Bro. Tommy,

How nice to see you on here.  I came to many meetings you were kind enough to hold way back at the beginning and I really appreciated all the info and help all the speakers provided.

I have gleaned some info on DO's on here.  I found what the language of one might look like here and saved it for a time like this:

Do not know what a "good" one looks like but perhaps this will help. Many knowledgeable and generous folks on here seem to swoop in with just the info we all need at the moment we need it. Maybe they can provide guidance on the "good" or "not so good" of DOs.

That well was put to sales on April 12 of 2011. Shell typically gets checks out 45-55 days after month end so End of June you should get checks. Im in the same section
Make sure the figures are correct before you sign. Mine had to be changed three times before it was correct.
I'm going to call Chesapeake on Friday May 20th to get an update on the division order for my property. I'm also going to contact my attorney to make sure the figures are accurate.

I'm the only one in our family who retained an oil and gas attorney. It may be worth the money. I got my lease bonus 4 months before anyone else in my family received theirs. My property is in Sec. 29 Twn 11 north 12 west.
What language are concerned about?  I do not work for Chesapeake, but the typical DO language is fairly standard, we use a form adopted by the National Association of Division Order Analysts (NADOA) and some companies make slight modifications to layout and such.  If you post your language and calculation questions here, I will be more than happy to help you with whatever I can.
Thanks for info. Encana is the operator of my well. Who do I contact to get info on production of the gas. I still haven't heard anything about the division order.

Robert,

Encana does not always send out division orders. They usually send first check 2 months to the rear of first production month if no issues with title. Gas production is listed on check stub and also can be found on SONRIS.
