REALLY THIS POST BELONGS ON THIS SITE. I feel "bitter" for only getting $200 per acre. Especially since I was "wooed" in the beginning. I was one of the first. And on top of that, look at how much money my former "wooer" is spending on their recent desire. It hurts to think they didn't feel more strongly about me. And of course I think that I gave them some of the "best" years - I mean HS. I'll feel better when we get to the "COMMUNITY PROPERTY SETTLEMENT".

Yes.

Please look at my post, They are not done with us yet. I will bring it up to the front page.
Okay, Parker. I will make you feel better. Our family leased our 96 acres at $100 per acre, 3 year primary term with a 2 year option for $50 an acre, and 18.75% royalties. Yeah, ouch it hurts. All that you and I can do now is hope that they drill in our section. Donna
Hopefully that was a good while back and they WON'T DRILL quick enough. Then they will top-lease you.
July 2007. That was inherited property on my mother's side. I also have some property (only 5 miles apart) inherited on my father's side that is being solicited for bids now. Hopefully, it will make me feel a little better on this go-around. The tables have turned this time. Bad thing is, I have much more acreage on what is already leased. But, you are right. Now, hopefully they will drill in our section.
Or not drill. In this play, not drilling is as good as drilling. If they do not drill and your lease expires you can re-lease for a decent bonus.
Wow. I really feel for you guys and gals. Some of my eldery neighbors signed for $400/ac on 5 acres. They have lost thousands. Hopefully, you will have the last laugh through royalties and after the lease ends, all of you can give a little pay back!
