Britt,
They are probably at 3500 ft. and setting surface pipe. They have to protect the fresh water sands before they drill deeper. They are no where near the turn.
Yes... now that I think about it, I saw a number of concrete trailers lined up, he must have said they showed up 2 weeks ago not been drilling that long
Trinidad Drilling Rig #124 reported 7 Days Drilling on 12/20.
That would be a nice drill depth in 8 days.
Hope it is true and they keep having that kind of luck with the drill.
Bernell,
The first 10,000 goes quickly. When they did the well on my home property they drilled to 10,500 in 10 days. That included driving the conductor pipe and setting surface pipe to 3,000 ft. Then drilling starts getting slower the deeper you drill.
Rate Of Penetration (ROP) slows when the driller stops drilling and starts sliding.
Yes, Skip and Joe, I understand all that...it is still a nice drill depth in 8 days and I still hope their luck holds.
Bernell, my comment is not about the depth drilled to date in the vertical. It is a comment about how the ROP will slow from here on as the driller kicks off to build the curve.
Trinidad Drilling Rig #124 reported 14 days drilling ahead, 12/27.
I was told it was at 11,400' this morning.
