Hey guys , anyone know anything about Petroguard drilling and production?  I found alittle bit of information about them online after a brief search.    They have been in Avoyelles parish for a long time in the Wilcox play just south of bunkie close to I-49.  They are making lease offers in central  Evangeline parish along hwy 106.

Overall, it's a poor blob map.  I wouldn't put too much faith in it.  The claim that it is put together from state data does not make it accurate.  The Haynesville blob is way off as is the TMS.

From what I’ve been told it’s well north of us probably in lower Vernon/Rapides and into Avoyelles .  Northern Evangeline and St Landry fall into the downdip from what I’ve researched and reviewed.  And been told by geologist for Amelia Resources and one in Houston.   I’m no geologist just going with the info provided.

not sure i know what this response means,,,,who is Beauregard and Vernon??

were they trying to provide a map of some sort???

Yeah, kind of cryptic.  Beauregard and Vernon are parishes.  QEP Resources is an exploration and production company.  They operate some Haynesville Shale wells up here.

thx Skip, think this is response from QEP rep. who wanted Beauregard and Vernon mentioned in my description of the Edwards shelf location.  i have limited info from geologist and was just speculating from volunteered info... maybe these reps. from QEP can enlighten and educate me...  looking forward......HC

Group:

There is a broad AC play map at the currently bottom of this page being the "representative" visual for "Plays" - The Shelf more or less parallels this line - this is the "rough" and fairway for the older generation horizontal development of the AC from 20-25 years ago.  Beauregard and Vernon as well as the western and west central portions of Rapides is the home of the larger AC fields developed during this timespan, which responded to the techniques used at the time (dual laterals, slotted liners in "open" uncased horizontal wellbores, etc.)   This is where Masters Creek, Glenmora, Burr Ferry, Pitkin, Sugrue, etc. are located.

Don't let the salt diapirs which are currently being used as the boundary to the new phase of development throw you - the Reef line continues west around and into SE Texas and under the Sabine in northwestern Beauregard Parish and southwestern Vernon Parish..  Apparently QEP is pointing that out.

Hey Dion, can you post the map here?

Hydrocarbonite:

One of the old, one of the more recent - both show the "30,000-foot" view of the Edwards Shelf edge.

Thx Dion.. our interest is in central Evangeline parish!  We are right on southern play of AC.  We have a lease being put together with Petroguard.
