Just wondering if anyone knows about Haynesville Shale activity in the Spring Ridge/Hwy 169 area?

section 6 T15N R16W..It is on the texas/louisiana border...Stateline rd..
No activity on this land yet..that I know of..When I checked Sonris it said the same as your reply earlier..no production.. plugged in 1976.
A regular section is one square mile, or 640 acres. In north LA many of the units are along section lines, but not always. Also sections can be irregular shapes or partial setions (esp by the state line or water bodies).
Hi Lulu,
That was R15W not 16.....a number of miles from stateline road.
Thanks for your post.
Jeff
Hi Everyone,

When my family e-mailed me the Section, Township, Range numbers they left off an important number - it's Section 16 of T15N R15W, rather than Section 6! I'm sorry for sending everyone on a rabbit chase re: Section 6.

As an update, CHK is definitely running a pipeline through our land on Greenwood-Springridge Road (Hwy 169) north of Dance Drive. And I didn't know this but all of our section was not leased...there was a hold-out group on Godfrey Road that just signed this last week (or so I've been told).

Now that our section is fully leased and a pipeline is being layed, I suppose this puts us closer to seeing a well?

Thanks to those who follow the Haynesville Shale in this area.

Jeff
T15N R15W R16 is South of Colquitt Rd.
T15N R15W R6 is just South of Dance Drive

Maybe the attached map will help figure out your section.

For reference, "CADDO" on the map crosses Colquitt Rd. just East of Springridge.

Or go here:

Drag "A" to where the property is, click on "link," and cut and paste the "Paste link in e-mail or IM" info into a post on this thread. Ignore the "Paste HTML to embed into a web site" bit.

Or paste a mailing address.

Mac...OK...we are officially in Section 6. But we checked our contract and are definitely leased by Cheasapeake. I noticed on the Sonris site that our section was one of the few that seemed to not be a 'Haynesville Shale Unit'. I'm guessing that's because it wasn't fully leased?

Wolf: good questions but my family handled that. I'll ask them though.

Thanks so much!
Don't they normally need 50% at least?
SONRIS doesn't show a well permitted or a unit formed in that section yet. Sometimes the hearing or paperwork has been done, but doesn't show up in SONRIS for a while, but I suspect that means you still have a while before any drilling will take place.

That's not really "bad" news. Maybe gas prices will be higher when you do get drilled. As has been pointed out before, there's a strong incentive to get at least one well in each section to keep leases from expiring.
Thanks Mac. They have a year to drill!
Thanks Jay. Is your section being drilled? If so, at what stage are they?
Jay, they show your well in 32 on a 12 choke. Is that accurate or a typo? I haven't seen that size choke on any other wells around here. what would that equal on a 24 choke.
I know what you mean. The well in my section is probably a little less than 1/4 mile from my house and when it started flowing the beginning of June it was quite loud. I could hear it roaring from my house. A couple of weeks ago they worked on it. Had coiled tubing run in to it. Don't know what the problem was but not so loud since. Hope everything is ok.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
