Petrohawk is force pooling this section for a Haynesville formation well. Letters were mailed last week to person's of interest in this section. This was a form letter from Cook, Yancey, King & Galloway. The example well is the R C Baker #1 in 16N10Wsec12 .... Reservoir A depth 8497-10815'.

RR...Can you tell me what this means. We have land that is in the same township and range but not in that section...we are not leased...thanks.kilo charlie
I don't know what will happen.. not all pooling and driling permits end in a well .. I have a drawer full of proposed wells on paper. Hopefully they will drill this section as a east boundry test well for the haynesville. Almost all of the section and section 15 next to it is HBP so it would be a cheap well to dril the leasing part anyway.. I don't think this will create any more interest for you or anyone else on leasing until a proven haynesville well is drilled in this area. I wonder if they could reenter some of the CV and Hosston wells that have been drilled in the last years and not plugged and drill on to the haynsville. I need to look at casing size to see if they could be extended.

should read sec 14 is HBP.
Don't know if they are referring to this as a Haynesvelle Shale Unit, but 8497' deep is definitely above the Haynesville. Maybe some of the guru's will fill us in. I haven't checked, but 10815' seems a little shallow too.
Thanks Earl,
I see what it says, thanks for the info. I still don't understand those depths. I was involved in some CV wells in the same area (T16N-R9W and vicinity) and they were over 10,000' feet deep. And the CV is above the Bossier. Sounds like cases of O&G calling formations whatever they want to. Doesn't matter how good the well was, but it can matter what formation it came from. For example, if you leased certain formations. Then I would want them to be called what they really are.
Its a done deal !..... they presented it for the commision to rubber stamp and In a few days we will hear its pooled ...small wonder since the well is already permitted. The location is finished..rocked last week you can see it from 371 all white!
