Is there an advantage to letting your lease expire rather than releasing to the company you originally had your lease with?

I inherited 6 acres in section 22 in Stonewall. My dad leased it about 4 or 5 years ago. Does anyone know what is going on down there? Haven't been approached so I am figuring the lease is in affect. Heard is it good diggings down there...
What is your Township and range?

Are you or have you received royalties or renewal monies?
Was just looking through the information packet and I don't see that. I have not recieved anything. Have been contacted several times about a lawsuit about forced zoning.

Encana is about the file to drill a well in the section I am in with the state. It will be a Haynesville unit. How do I find out about the Township and range?
Look at you tax bill or deed. Or look at the lease. Also look at wherever you found your section.
Or look at the information you have about the encana unit.
Section 14, Township 15 North, Range 13 West....
This section is full of producing wells, some producing back to 1979 (147622 HOSS RA SUN;SUSIE B OSBY ET AL ). Are you receiving royalties? do you own your minerals?
I did not even know he had the property there. Until I recieved mail about it. After his death. Sounds like I need an attorney....
Sure do, if you inheirted minerals you might be due royalties.
thanx...
My sister and I also have about 120 acres in Plain Dealing that she has been approached about frequently over the past 5 years. No surprise there. Offers are not even tempting. 63,000 for a 40 acre tract. He want approach me. I believe he is the agent of a man who tried to by it from my dad years ago who was insulted when my dad told him once that he would pay him the same for his 40 that was adjacent to ours.

It looks like my sons and grand children will reap the fruit of this land.
