Have any Haynesville wells north of I 20 in Bossier Parish been connected to a pipeline yet? If they have what i'd really like to know is what cubic feet per day they have been putting out. If none have been connected, can an estimated guess be made of what they will be? Southern Star seems quite pleased with what they have found but i cant find a production rate per day anywhere. Thanks

They haven't been put into production yet. No pipeline.
Amy,

TAKE A LOOK AT THIS:

Southern Star Energy Announces Preliminary Gas in Place Estimate of Up to 250-320 Bcf Per Section in the Sentell Field

HOUSTON, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Southern Star Energy Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SSEY) ("Southern Star" or the "Company") today announced the preliminary results of Core Laboratories' ("Core Lab") technical evaluation of the well data and core samples provided by the Company for the Atkins-Lincoln 17-2 and Burt 20-1 Haynesville test wells.

The Company recently completed drilling operations on its two initial Haynesville delineation wells, the Atkins-Lincoln 17-2 and the Burt 20-1. As part of the evaluation program for these two wells, extensive core sampling was performed on each well. The Company provided these cores to Core Lab as part of its proprietary Regional Haynesville Study. Preliminary results of Core Lab's technical analysis of the Atkins-Lincoln 17-2 and Burt 20-1 well data, wireline logs and core samples indicate net thickness of the porous, gas-bearing Haynesville Shale intervals to be 327 feet and 249 feet respectively. The study further indicates that the Sentell Field's Haynesville Shale potential ranges between 258 Bcf and 321 Bcf gas in place per section. This compares favorably with other data evaluated by Core Lab in proven productive areas of Southern Bossier Parish, south of the Sentell Field, where gas in place estimates are approximately 165 Bcf per section. Other key factors, including Total Organic Content, Kerogen Type and Quality, Observed Pressure Gradients, and Clay Content of the Company's core data, appear consistent with industry data across this sector of Bossier Parish. There is still substantial laboratory and field testing work to be completed, but these preliminary results, combined with conservative recovery factors of less than 25%, indicate Sentell Field reserve potential exceeding 100 Bcfe net to the Company's interest.

Analysis and completion design work continues in order to optimize results. The Company is carefully following industry activity in the area and working the laboratory results into completion plans for both of the Company's initial Haynesville delineation wells. In the meantime, the Company is currently erecting a new drilling rig in preparation for spudding its third delineation well, the Boyce Pate 16-1.

The Company has established a link on its website to a newly published map outlining the Company's acreage position in the context of other Haynesville activity. The web link for this map is www.ssenergyinc.com/s/haynesville_sentellfield.asp.

David Gibbs, Southern Star's President and Chief Executive Officer, said: "The results of the Core Lab study of our Haynesville test wells are evidence of the quality of our acreage in this play. Gas in place estimates of this magnitude are significant for a company of our size. Even with conservative recovery factors, the upside potential indicated by the Core Lab study suggests positive potential results for our shareholders."
Thanks guys
So can we look at what southern star says here:

" The study further indicates that the Sentell Field's Haynesville Shale potential ranges between 258 Bcf and 321 Bcf gas in place per section. This compares favorably with other data evaluated by Core Lab in proven productive areas of Southern Bossier Parish, south of the Sentell Field, where gas in place estimates are approximately 165 Bcf per section."

and assume these wells will produce more than the ones in southern bossier parish? Maybe 20+ Mmcfd?

Is it just me or do we read this as the shale is better in the north part of the parrish?
Children:
Southern Star selling for $.39 per share.. Chesapeake and Petrohawk give the EUR (economic ultimate recovery) per 80/ac at 6.5 bcf thus 50 to maybe 60bcf per section. Then these knuckleheads say 258-321 are you kidding. Remember boys and girls, these guys are selling their stock.

Sidebar: Per the people in the know that anything north of I-20 is suspect production for big reserves, we shall see if the Matador wells are any good..
Ben,
Believe me, I am no Southern Star fan, I put them in the same class as Matador, BEUSA, etc.
But they said 258-321 GAS IN PLACE per section. They did not say that is recoverable.
And I hate to say it, but referring to the people on this site in general as "children" and "boys and girls" is highly offensive to me. I will let the rest of the people speak for themselves. But, as I have felt the need to state on here before, I am not a kid. I do not know what you are, and I will not make any references to what I do not know. And I would appreciate it if you would do the same.
Thank you,
BirdDawg, still not a kid, and damn tired of being called one

PS, Glad to hear that you consider yourself an "oil and gas professional" and you obviously don't know the difference between "gas in place" and "recoverable gas".
Dog:
Easy....First mistake, EUR takes the "recoverable gas" into account so take a deep breath. The "boys and girls" thing was pointed at the naviety in believing those crazy numbers and I was referring to the above posts and not all on this site, second mistake.
Now, for all of the personal stuff on your rebuttal post, it seems per your own words, "I have felt the need to state on here before, I am not a kid." Then per your next statement, "BirdDawg, still not a kid, and damn tired of being called one." It seems again, that someone has called you that before, Hummmmm....
Welcome back, Ben "the soybean farmer" Eagle.
I sure have missed you. Guess all the plantin is done huh ? :^)
I am not sure if anyone here has spoken with Southern Star directly or not but we had a sit down meeting as a potential lessor of our group back several months ago. We were abliged with the presence of the CEO and chief officers of Southern Star Energy. We were informed with their proof that they too are members of the Core Lab study group along with all the Big guys. These projections are from the Core Lab study group. I must say that the Board members of Southern Star how ever much we are all liery of the Gas Companies, they were straight forward with us and did not blow alot of smoke at us and were giving us all the true facts and even gave us information and how to get it that we were not previ too. So the question is are the big guys really telling us the truth? We were told that the shale in the Hwy 80 area was only about 150-180 feet thick per The big Gas Guys. Although, they may not be leasing us they (Southern Star Energy) were very open and forth coming with great information for us that we were not able to get even from the Corporate office of one of the Big guys.

Eric
amy,

There wasn't supposed to be so much gas at Pine Island either, BUT THERE IS. I have read that the gas in the Benton area is some of the thickest shale. I am no expert like Mr. Eagle, but I sure would be doing my own research. It seems like some of these experts have been wrong before.
GOOD LUCK
Exactly, and I, and the rest of the people on this site, are not kids. And I will repeat myself again to the next uninformed person. And I went back and looked at the previous post, and it still says "gas in place". Why do people that talk down to other people always want to justify it in their own way? Hummmmmmm....
If they were really selling their stock, dilution would be showing up in filings with the SEC. The outstanding shares for SSEY has been at about 44-45 million now for quite some time. I'm not saying they wouldn't sell some if the stock jumped into the dollars, but for now at least to say they are doing this to sell their stock is a bit premature.
I have followed the stocks of Southern Star Energy and I agree they have maintained. They are not stretching out into the unknown as we were told they were not going to do with the starting of an up and coming shale/gas drilling company. However, they were looking for some investors to support thier efforts. They did not like the question, when we asked them if they were going to look for support from some of the BIG GUYS, because they are the ones working against the smaller guys. However SSE did invite us to look at thier well sites and how they maintain them and do thier best to work with the surrounding residents. Although, they did state to us they are not in financial standing to make offers like some of the big companies as of yet but were looking at investors to help them compete with the big guys and thier over powering buy out tactics, which makes it almost impossible for the little guys to make a promising and good future for thier company. I applaud Southern Star Energy for thier up front honesty with us and I hope for those that they are drilling around and working with in the Haynesville and Cotton Valley sands gas extractions continues as they so described to us. I hope that if they are able to do business with us, they will come for our leases. I would rather work with honesty and integrity than lies and deceit like the big guys have been doing to us.

Eric
