Has anyone heard that the LA. Office of Conservation has a new rule that O&G Companies will only be allowed to drill 2 HS wells in a Section/unit? Is this fact or is this a rumor?

also , a very stupid and completely uncalled for RUMOR!
What are your thoughts on the future spacing of wells within a unit? I've heard 80 acre spacing which would allow up to 8 wells per unit to fully drain each section. Thanks in advance for your reply.
That is music to my ears. I'll take 6 to 8 and a re drill.
Jay,
I have a "duh" question. I saw that 15N - 14W -Sec19 was permitted last Friday. That's my section !! Yeah ! Sonris lists this permit 4 times. All with the same serial number 239582.
Why do they list the same well 4 times?
What I was looking at on Sonris was Wells Permitted by Date. I put in Mar 20, 2009 and saw Kelley Etal listed 4 times.
I don't know if this would be related to this thread, but a reliable source from Encana informed me within the last two weeks that they were bringing a rig into RRP that would enable them to go laterally three to four different ways on one location. I wander if Chesapeake is undertaking such a drilling process going forward.
That is exactly what I was thinking.

So would each horizontal hole from that one location be under the same Serial Number depending on the number of horizontals permitted from that location?
Does the Bossier shale and Cotton Valley formation cover the entire core area per Chesapeake? I have an interest in many sections in 16N-14W and was wondering if it would overly that area. Also, what is your opinion of the productivity in the Bossier shale and Cotton Valley in that same vicinty?
Thanks for the valuable information.
Thanks to both of you.. My sister had gotten the information from someone who she thought a reliable source and we neither one believed it, but when someone says it came from the Conservation Office it makes you question yourself and what you really know. That is why I told her I would ask the question on this site.

Thanks Again
