Howdy folks, can some of you seismograph experts please help with information. I need to know the process by which it's done, how much surface damage to expect, protection clauses for a lease, and of course, how much to expect to be paid. Thanks in advance.

The going rate is $25.00 per acre.
they are doing seismic on my land now in natch parish should be done in october....i believe...
Folks, I'm just bringing this discussion back up to the top, and ask for more of your expertise.

In my opinion, $25 per acre is a joke considering what damage this equipment may do to my property.

Does anyone have a link to a sample siesmic exploration contract? Or more ideas about protections to put in a lease?

Thanks,
JS
Jack Spratt: has a seismic company approached you yet? If so, who's the company. I contracted in Oct 07 at the 25$ per acre price as that is the industry norm from my research.

Jack, I contract at $25.00 per acre in June. We had an expert in the field look at our contract and he said this was a good thing for us and to proceed.
In reference to your post, I agree that $25/acre for seismic work, given the damage, is unreasonable. I don't see any recent posts to this discussion but has anyone negotiated more than the $25 "industry rate"? Thanks
i am not at liberty to disclose exactly what i got but as a rule of thumb i usually ask for double the going rate for these types of things.
also a friend of mine in shelby county reported to me atleast one of the shot holes on his homestead left a four foot deep crater the size of a pickup truck hood.
this reminds me of the importance of conducting a detailed post shot inspection of the shot holes .

You keep talking about education? Freudian.....Uh, your a landman right? Who's more powerful, the tiger or the handler....landman?
Why would you tell me that you are/were a landman for 30 years and online I see that you claim to be a Geologist? I won't/can't refute your answer either way.
Stop acting like kids!!! This is suppose to be a website to gain information not for name calling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats what I thought, wrong guy I guess. I thought he WAS more educated than I Iol. Landman or not, he's a human and I treasure his landman opinion.
