We live off Hwy169 and Bumcombe Rd. Does anyone know if this is a good deal? We allowed Fortress Management to neg. the lease for us. We haven't signed yet. The royalties are 25 per-cent. Can anyone tell me if there's been a better offer in my area? I'm being told to hold off for a better price.. Does anyone know the township forthis area??

I can see giving a percentage of bonus (1% maybe) but not of royalties. All in all, I think it might be better to pay a lawyer by the hour.

One thing is sure you can't get something for nothing.

Let a painter paint your house. Let a plumber fix your plumbing. Let a lawyer prepare your legal documents.

I am a true believer in "do it yourself" but in this case there is too much riding and I can't afford to make even a small mistake.

Groups are great to round off the rough edges but a professional should polish it off.

The simple math of it all is if you are paying 4% you are over paying. Simple as that. Believe it or not. Anybody that agrees to pay that with all the information out there telling them they don't have to is just uninformed or desperate for a check which is understandable. If you need the money and a guy can get you a check right now for 4% instead of you waiting a few weeks or months to get it for free, then you do it. I am sure people in Ft Worth overpaid for things in the beginning too.
If you want to lease your property, this sounds like a good deal, make sure you have a good lease. As for as Fortress, I personally know Denny and think you can trust him.
He gave you a form letting you know what they were doing for the landowner, Stick with your group.
Yes Raymond..fortress has been very honest,and like they say..I don't have to take the deal.. I was just wondering if there might be something a little cheaper.
