Obama says, 'I will tap our natural gas reserves'!!'I will cut taxes for 95% of Amercans'!!

Great for Shalers, that's us.
I don't know about you, but even with my Shale blessings, I am still in the lower 95%. For those of you in the top 5, so sorry....NOT.
So I know who I am going with.

Oh, how I agree with that!!! He don't intend to deliver!!! The boy want even put his hand on the Bible!!!
You don't really believe that do you?
I believe in the past he has said he's going after the "Big Oil"!
Do you think he plans on taking over "Big Gas" to accomplish his promises?
He is long on promises, short on details!
Well Said
He would take your gas royalties from you so he could take care of the welfare recipients in New Orleans!!!!!! He would form a Socialist Government. A wise man once told me, "Never trust a man with a middle name of Hussein ---BARAK HUSSEIN OBAMA HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO
You are obviously a Fox news & Rush Limbaugh fan. There's more to a person than a name, and not all of New Orleans receives welfare. Careful with the generalizations, doing the right thing is hard sometimes.
Be careful guy's and girls , when they speak of nationalizing our fields that should make everyone hurl! Even if you don't have a direct stake in the Haynesville Shale.
"Tonight, Americans witnessed a misleading speech that was so fundamentally at odds with the meager record of Barack Obama. When the temple comes down, the fireworks end, and the words are over, the facts remain: Senator Obama still has no record of bipartisanship, still opposes offshore drilling, still voted to raise taxes on those making just $42,000 per year, and still voted against funds for American troops in harm's way. The fact remains: Barack Obama is still not ready to be President."

McCain's press release on the convention speech of Obama
I agree!
Anyone who'd trust that Obama is telling the truth would believe the landman who is trying to lease their minerals for a $100 an acre and the standard lease is fair!
I'm pretty sure you had your mind made up as to who you'd vote for in November before you heard BHO's acceptance speach tonight. And if you did, his sermon was probably pretty exciting to you. I know I would have been excited if he were my candidate. I'm sure I'll be a little more excited next week for my guy than I am today. But I honestly feel that address wasn't what tipped you in his direction. But just in case, let me ask you a few gas-related questions, if for no other reason to get you looking at some issues you may not have considered.

What's BHO gonna do differently, with regard to natural gas, than McCain? You realize that BHO's position on alternate energy, such as CNG for automobiles, is the same position as McCain's, don't you? Drill for oil while we prove up emerging technologies like wind, solar, fuel cells, an infrastructure in support of CNG vehicles, etc. No matter who's the president, that's going to happen, eventually, due to market forces demanding it. And when I say eventually, it'll be at the market's pace, not at the insistance of the president. There is a way a president can encourage the demand for natural gas: massive subsidies or tax incentives for the energy companies. I find it difficult to believe a potential BHO voter, much less a committed and dyed-in-the-wool Democrat, could ever get behind that notion. Personally, I'll rely on the free market to prevail rather than government intervention.

When he says he's going to "tap our nation's natural gas reserves" can we both agree that the reserves are already being tapped, and pretty fast, especially in the last decade or so? What will the BHO plan do, specifically, to expedite the laying of pipeline and spudding of wells? Further, what will his plan do to increase demand and consequently prices (which translate to better royalties for the land-owners?) I'm afraid no president can wave a magic wand and drive up demand for a product, without subsidising and incentivising and already-profitable industry.

Off topic a bit for a natural gas discussion, but don't you think the class-envy argument is a little shallow? Why should an arbitrarily chosen percentage of the population be expected to pull the wagon more than they already do? Consider for a minute what happens if a nation puts that high a burden on so few individuals. Take simply one of those people off the tax-payer roll and you've adversely affected your tax reciepts. Think about what would happen if only 10% of that top 5% decide they'd rather retire and live off the money they already have socked away (thus, removing them from the wage-earner category and off the tax roll) rather than have a high percentage of their income confiscated immorally. When your wagon is pulled by a team of 100 horses, you can afford to lose a few. When you're wagon's pulled by 5 horses, ever one that pulls up lame puts your forward progress in serious jeopardy. (For the record, I'm all in favor of tax cuts, commensurate with an appropriate reduction in spending, and only when it rewards the horses that pull the wagon. Never when it's punitive to the people that pay the lion's share of taxes.)
I love reading your responses.
Keep'm comin'
All things to all people,blah,blah---
Listened to Barrys speech, then read the transcript. He seems to be quite insane.
