It is a plus for Louisiana that the EPA has included Louisiana's Haynesville Shale in their "prospective study" of gas shale development. The prospective phase of the EPA study recognizes that Louisiana has shown over the past three years, through the safe and successful completion of over 1,200 natural gas wells, that there are adequate State rules and regulations in place for fracking to be done in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner.
