The Tyler paper offers the East Texas Driiling Report but now charges a subscription fee of $19.99 per month. You cannot get just a online subscription which should be a lot less expensive, so I too am missing the Drlling Report. I continue hoping they will reconsider and offer it online for less and I would subscribe. But $19.99 for one report a month is ridiculous.

Keith, I started using this site when we were approached by JAG Operations out of Shreveport (or A. Rowe III technically) about some 160 acres of mineral rights in Miller County, Arkansas, in the Kelly Bayou area. We didn't know the family still had these rights and we were complete newbies on all this. So I was all over this site trying to learn as much as I could before signing the lease offer. We didn't know the family still had these rights and we were complete newbies on all this. So I was all over this site trying to learn as much as I could before signing the lease offer. Did connect with another person on this site who had land in close proximity to ours. It looks like our acreage would be part of the Brown Dense Lower Smackover as it is near the Ark/Lousiana border on HWY 71. In the end we took so long to respond that we got rolled into a receiver lawsuit to aggregate the remaining leases that we had to sign the lease to negotiate out of the receiver lawsuit. It was a good education and who knows what happens next. Thanks for all the great info here.
hey Jfffree, thanks for the tips.

when u get time, I can't figure out whether everyone in a Tx. land grant or survey shares in production according to acreage like in a La. section where owners can check their land's section on Sonris as well as checking surrounding sections to see if a horizontal well has its pad "off section" but crosses a section line into your section in which case of course you should be paid.

e.g. we have a lease in the JW Figureina Survey 300, about 900 acres and our lease is on a 140 acre parcel, unfortunately not in a great area. we don't receive any royalty, but on this 900 acres from google earth one can see well flares and tanks suggesting active wells. I did find 3 wells using the RRC site mentioned on this survey, but apparently no production. I have no way of knowing the well i.d. since we get no royalty, but wonder if we should.

so put it on the back burner, but if you can see your way to eradicating my ignorance I would be obliged.
