IMO, it means that SWEPI should have applied for a 12 month instead of a 6 month permit to drill. I wouldn't worry about it as I expect they will reapply shortly.

Les B receive first check May 24th for well 204249 from Encana. SWEPI rig moved in on Dec 28,2009. Almost 150 day that dont sound to bad time wise. Now will see about Shell getting us a check , if we get one from them too. My lease was with Will Drill, Questar bought some leases from them but Will Drill reserve wells in production and in progress. Two other well is my section around 10-11000 ft. What Will Drill did not reaize is that Questar had it fixed where they would get the deep stuff. Then Questar and Encana/SWEPI worked something out on the payments. Sounds like dog eat dog world. Cannot trust anyone seems like. Shell is drilling the well in Jack Blakes section (T 10 N, R 11 W, Section 21). Jack hopes they can drill the well as good as they built the pad. They sure did build a nice pad! A good thing about Shell drilling the well is they have lots of money.
Maybe they will take the approach of choking the well back to avoid damaging the completion/formation.
Jack has worked in offshore ouil production since he was a wee little lad and saw right away that pulling a well hard will kill it quicker. Why the hell can't the oil companies see this! Jack thinks they can't see it, but they would rather have 10 dollars today than have 25 dollars tomorrow.
Jack Blake would rather the 25 dollars tomorrow. Maybe he is just to simple minded.................................
Les B thanks for info. I had heard of that but just sounds weird way to do business. I have another kicker to the story for you. I'm leased to Will Drill and had emailed them to see what was going on. Received a call from them around noon today. They have no ideal of whats going on and Forest Oil had call them also trying to find out. Sounds like something cut throat going on maybe not it sounds funny.

Splicer, the reason for two royalty checks is each company owns 50% of the lease agreement and probably markets their own share of production.

Well 240249 T14/R9/sec7 Red River Parish just received a division order this is listed as a SWEPI on SONRIS but order came from Encana. Maybe Encana taking over on some wells. I know some people get 2 checks one from Encana and another from Shell for the same well which I dont understand. We will see what happens and let ya'll know
