This discussion thread is The resurgence of the Louisiana Austin Chalk. Suggest you start an Avoyelles new well discussion to keep this discussion focused on the AC. SWD wells have serial numbers beginning with the number 9. It takes a few days for the actual well permit to be available in the database but I can show you how to look them up. The permit states the target formation.
Eye-Eye Captain, will keep this thread on point... thx for the SWD ID number recognition.
Hydro, any of those tanker trucks you are seeing have the name, Plains, on them?
I was in Baton Rouge and New Orleans for five days. Going down and coming back I saw several Plains tankers along Hwy. 190 just north of Krotz Springs. Made me think that if Hydro can give us the name or names on the tanker trucks, we might figure out whether they were carrying water or oil.
Mostly Plains and Dupont... but I hv seen water tankers as well frequently.. only know the difference bc someone posted pics of tankers , water vs oil.
Rock Man, you are in luck. Betting is not allowed on GHS! :-)
Good thing I am a better geo than a midstream transportation consultant! LOL
Jay, we apologize for not offering you some earlier. No stems, no seeds, that you don't need...........
Why a failure? Do you have the oil volumes and oil cut numbers for what this well has been producing since it was frac'd?
This is a "test" well - it was never going to be a great well due to short lateral and skinny hole (4.5" casing). But it test results would be an indicator or the type of production one could achieve when frac'ing the AC in this area.
The most disappointing thing that could happen here is that the well is P&A'd and no production / test info is every reported for people like us to see and review.
Time will tell for sure.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
