Looks like Vine is in the process of re-fracking a well in the Brushy Bayou field. I think the well is located in s19 T11n R11w. Lots of activity at this well site yesterday. This was an old Shell location that was starting to look as if it had been abandoned.
There has been little mention of Vine on GHS, anyone know what there 2015 plans look like?
There has been leasing in this area during 2014 by a company called Cortez Resources. Could it be related to that?
Don't know. Its definitely a Vine location and this was not a work over rig. More like refrac equipment. Who was Cortez representing?
My understanding is that Cortez is company of investors based in Dallas. They don't do the drilling themselves. Rather, they acquire a fairly small leasehold, partner with a driller, and go at it. I was told that they plan to put superpads in this area and begin drilling in the next few years. They have spent much of 2014 acquiring leases in the area. They have done this type of thing in the TMS and, I believe, in the Eagle Ford also.
