This has been a long year, this next year, however, is full of promise. I for one am ready to see this area proven up, & lets add Cotton Valley and Smackover to the wishlist please.

Yes, it will be an interesting year, for sure. I can't wait! (there I go wishing my life away... but this has been the longest year I can remember).

Gotta keep things interesting.

There should be a lot of activity in Sabine County, Texas in 2010. EOG, Devon, Chesapeake, Southwestern and Range have most of the acreage under lease. The northern part of the County should have Haynesville Shale, Bossier Shale, Pettit and James Lime production.

Donner was an Austin Chalk well and I've been told that they always produce a lot of water but it looks like (from the comments) this one was maybe producing more than expected for some reason. It may have been uneconomic to produce (that is my guess).

What happened with the Donner well, the southern most in Sabine Parish? I have seen that it was testing and flaring and was an excellent well with very high pressure waiting for pipeline, and then they busted it up trying to frac it and shut it in. Did they just give up on that area? If i recall it was not a HS well.

Encana leased the Forestar (Temple Inland) minerals in Sabine Co. last year. They only filed a memorandum so no terms disclosed, just affected tracts. That is another reason I keep an eye on Sabine Parish and particulary on what Encana is doing.

Generally, they are north of Zwolle Field. I watch Sabine Parish too because I think what happens over there might have some bearing on us over on the Tx. side. They need to move on down into the lower Twp.s (7N, 6N, 5N) before we can get too excited but they are moving in the right (our) direction.

Encana has three new HA unit applications on the public hearing schedule today (9/30/09).

Zwolle Field - 5 units - Sections 19 -21, 28 & 29 - 8N - 11W.
San Miguel Creek Field - 1 unit - Section 3 - 9N -11W.
Grogan Field - 4 units - Sections 22, 23, 25, & 26 - 10N - 11W.

I know Zwolle is on the other side of the lake, where are these other two fields?

We discussed Kite and Jurassic Exp. a while back on the San Augustine page. The general concensus is we all love what they say but what they say is of little consequence. I figure they picked up some leases last year and are trying to incite interest in the area (which is fine with me) with the aim being to unload the leases. That's just my best guess.
