Has anyone leased to Exxon/Hunt in the San Augustine Co.?

  • James ONeal

Anyone with information on what production of EOG Ironosa well API #30376 looks like? It's just NW of San Augustine in the E K Davis survey and its my understanding that it started producing around the 1st of Jan. but havent seen anything online about it.
  • jffree1

James, we just got production for November so it will be March or April before the January figures are available.

Is anyone leasing in the north end of San Augustine County?
  • Lori

Does anyone know about the Borders Q well?  If they list a spud date of 12/29/10 does that mean they have actually started?
  • jffree1

    Yes, they are drilling.
  • Lori

Can anyone tell me about the production on C1SN 30298 on A-424 in San Augustine East?  Where do I find this info out?
  • jffree1

Lori, I just looked and I don't think that well has been drilled yet.  Harding Company did drill a well in San Augustine in 2010 but it was 30380.  I don't find a completion or any production for your well.
  • Lori

So on the Borders Q well, if they are drilling now, how long until I would be able to find out results of the well?  Then how do I know what the results mean to me?

  • jffree1

Lori, it could be several months before we know what the IP is on the Borders Q well.  I would guess mid-summer.

Anyone know if any O&G company has leased to anyone in the J Moss (A-31) Survey?

    IS XTO A BONAFIDE COMPANY?

My daughter and I have leased properties in San Augustine, Nacogdoches,

and Shelby counties. We are having incredible problems getting XTO to communicate with us regarding leases acquired by them from Hunt, Bergfeld, and Fossil. Calls are not returned, mail not answered, and appointments with them through our attorneys not kept.

We live in Africa, and the costs of abortive attempts at contact is becoming prohibitive.

Do other shalers have opinions, and above all, suggestions?

  • jffree1

Curt, yes, they are legitimate but they now belong to Exxon Mobil Corp. who bought them last year.  I don't know if this will help but here is contact info for the Houston Office:

    Exploration and Producing Operations
    800 Bell Street
    Houston, Texas 77002

WYK, that's an Austin Chalk oil well.  All of the laterals were reported under the same Lease ID: #13479.

Noticed Encana just permitted another well.  The BSM Unit A19 in the Loyd, H Survey.  Encana is hanging around South of San Augustine.
  • jffree1

Zap Minerals #1H is finished drilling.
  • JWC

Yeah jffree1 I was down there last Friday.  Looked like they were getting ready to move the rig.  Not sure where it was going next.  There is a 3 inch water line laid to the site so I guess they are getting ready to frac.  Hope it is a good one.  Wait...wait....wait.
  • jffree1

The rig went back to Nacogdoches County.  Maybe it won't be too long.

Anyone heard anything on the Enana BSI/USFS Unit F16 in the Z-Redmond Survey?  It was permitted back in early February.  Surely it is close to having a completion report reported.
  • jffree1

Not yet.  They are drilling the A19 and A20 units right now.

Pumping crew on the Teal Unit today.

SM Energy has reported two wells this week:

Hudson #1H came in at 12.859 MMcfd on a 20/64 choke with a 8969# flowing pressure.

    Cortes #1H reported 10.815 MMcfd on a 20/64 choke with a 8667# flowing pressure.

These wells are East of the airport with surface locations in E. Quirk, A-35 just north of Hwy 21W.  We should hear about your well soon AL.

How long does it take to pay for a well before the royalty to lease holder go  out , just wondering.

  • jffree1

If you signed a lease you don't have to wait for the well to pay out before receiving royalties.  Once they put you into pay status, you will be paid back to the first month of production.  Then you will get a monthly check that will probably come about 60 days behind the month of actual production.

    Question -

Our family's 3 year lease with Eagle Oil is about done in a few days but a check came in the mail to extend the lease. The clause is below. Does the clause mean that if the check is cashed, the lease is extended or if we don't cash it, they are released? Someone shed some light.

    Thanks

"On or before the expiration of the primary term of this Lease, Lessee may pay to Lessor the cash sum of $XXX.00 per net mineral acre covered by this Lease whereupon the primary term shall be extended for an additional 2  (two) years.  The payment of such cash sum by Lessee shall obviate the need for payment of an additional delay rental.  The right of Lessee to extend this Lease as provided herein is at the option, but not the obligation, of Lessee."

  • JWC

What survey are you in Norwood?
  • Spring Branch,mineral owner

Norwood, I assume the check was sent by certified mail, return receipt requested. If so, and you or someone in your family signed for it , you are extended for two years whether you cash it or not. Eagle has fulfilled their end of the agreement.
  • DL Smith

How do you not extend agreements if all you have to do is accept a registered letter? How are you supposed to know what is in the letter?

  • DL Smith

I have 50% minerals on my property. Eagle leased the other 50% from the previous owner but never contacted me. Is this a tactic to keep from paying leases?
  • Ben Elmore

The option to extend leases is typically the sole right of the Lessee.  It is an option you, as lessor, offered to the Lessee when you signed the lease.  You cannot rescind that offer.  It is up to the Lessee whether or not to exercise that option and accept your offer to extend the lease by sending you the bonus check.  As to your second question, need more info.  When you say "previous owner", did you buy out the previous owner's mineral interest, and was your purchase made subject to the outstanding lease?  If so, do you have the lease, and is their production on it?  Or do you and the previous owner each own undivided 50% mineral interests?
  • Spring Branch,mineral owner

DLS, the point is that receiving the Certified letter containing the Option check proves that the Lessee did in fact mail a check to extend the lease in a timely manner and that the lessor received it.  You can not void the two year option by claiming you never received the check or by not cashing/depositing the check.
  • Norwood, W

Our area is somewhere in Z-redmond and it seems the answer I was looking for was answered by Spring Branch and Mr. Elmore. We do not have a choice in not having them extend the lease. This was the question I was asking I guess...

    Thanks for the answer.

Someplace on the GHS web site in recent months there were links given to current Unit Declarations maps for San Augustine County.  Now I can't find them.  Where are they?  And, our special thanks to the shaler(s) who prepared these valuable tools.

Does anyone have any information on Chesapeake's well in the Harris GU Siler Survey, they have obtained a permit?
  • jffree1

Mark, the permit was approved 7-08-11.  API #405-30461.
  • Joe Ed Jones

What link do you go to,to find monthly flow and daily flow rates
  • jffree1

Mr. Jones, you will find a link to the Production Reports Query page on the RRC Help Center:

    http://www.gohaynesvilleshale.com/group/trrchelpcenter

It's the last link on that page.  Click on it and use the "Production by Lease" query.  If the well doesn't have a Lease ID number yet, you can use the API # (leave out the hyphen) or the permit #.  Set the well type to pending, choose District 6 and set the first date to a month far enough back to pick up the first month of production.

Once there is a Lease ID # assigned you would use that number instead and set the well type to GAS.

You will find both the API # and the permit (status) # on the W-1 permit page.
