That's a good idea. Give them a shout RR and let us know what they say. I bet you get a real lowball kind of offer, though.
Company Overview
Kite Energy, LLC. is a privately owned oil and gas royalty/mineral acquisition, exploration and development company. We will purchase fee minerals, royalties, overriding royalty interests, and non-operated working interests. We are committed to making a fair offer for any of the above mentioned interests. In order to make an offer, we must determine the current value of any interest mentioned above. You can provide any and all information to us by emailing us at gasedge@gmail.com or filling out the form on the contacts page . Once we've received the information, we will quickly reply with an offer. If you are interested in selling or leasing any of the above interests, we will make the process very quick and simple:
1. We will evaluate your property.
2. We will make an offer based on our evaluation.
3. Upon acceptance, we will quickly forward you an assignment or an executed lease and payment either by check, bank draft, or other acceptable means of payment.
Maybe they are beginning to move South a little bit. Lots of land leased in the southern part of the play. We may know how this part of the play is going to pan out soon.
JWC, That is the Lacy well that I heard was going in two months ago. Thanks for posting it. I heard that they are working on another pad near this one. East of me about 6-7 miles down in the Six Mile area in south end of county. This is Austin Chalk area so not sure what the target is.
Has anyone seen any activity around the wells permitted by Range last month? New roads, well pad, anything? We need to get this show on the road... the area is NNW of Burroughs Creek.
There are a total of 4 wells recently permitted in this area. 3 in the J. McAdams survey ( 2 permitted to 7300 ft and called horizontal, oil?? ) and one of them is permitted to 16000 ft horizontal. The deep well is on the North side of Hwy. 87, and the other two ( 7300 ft. ) on the South side. These should be able to be seen from the Hwy, they are about a mile and a half WNW of where the Bourghs creek crosses Hwy. 87. The other 16k ft permitted well is North East about two miles away from these three, in the W. B. Frazier survey. These two deep wells are ones to watch for Sabine county folks IMO. All 4 of these wells are Range Production indeed.
That's the ones! I drove up 87 a couple of weeks ago but didn't know the area well enough (late in the evening) to get off the beaten path. Needless to say all I did was burn some gas and didn't see a thing.
I cannot find a history of a deep well being drilled in this area at all. there are some older oil and gas wells, but all very shallow. This should help establish this as part of the play, there are many very nice wells a little further north in Shelby. San Augustine is being drilled and permitted just to the West and Sabine Parish has some nice wells and many permits to the East across the lake. It just doesn't make any sense to me that this area hasn't got a lot of O&G under the timber. I don't live near, so anyone that does, who can keep an eye out, please do! This is well within Crimson's map, hope they are right.
We discussed Kite and Jurassic Exp. a while back on the San Augustine page. The general concensus is we all love what they say but what they say is of little consequence. I figure they picked up some leases last year and are trying to incite interest in the area (which is fine with me) with the aim being to unload the leases. That's just my best guess.

Encana has three new HA unit applications on the public hearing schedule today (9/30/09).
Zwolle Field - 5 units - Sections 19 -21, 28 & 29 - 8N - 11W.
San Miguel Creek Field - 1 unit - Section 3 - 9N -11W.
Grogan Field - 4 units - Sections 22, 23, 25, & 26 - 10N - 11W.
I know Zwolle is on the other side of the lake, where are these other two fields?
Generally, they are north of Zwolle Field. I watch Sabine Parish too because I think what happens over there might have some bearing on us over on the Tx. side. They need to move on down into the lower Twp.s (7N, 6N, 5N) before we can get too excited but they are moving in the right (our) direction.
Encana leased the Forestar (Temple Inland) minerals in Sabine Co. last year. They only filed a memorandum so no terms disclosed, just affected tracts. That is another reason I keep an eye on Sabine Parish and particulary on what Encana is doing.
What happened with the Donner well, the southern most in Sabine Parish? I have seen that it was testing and flaring and was an excellent well with very high pressure waiting for pipeline, and then they busted it up trying to frac it and shut it in. Did they just give up on that area? If i recall it was not a HS well.
Donner was an Austin Chalk well and I've been told that they always produce a lot of water but it looks like (from the comments) this one was maybe producing more than expected for some reason. It may have been uneconomic to produce (that is my guess).
There should be a lot of activity in Sabine County, Texas in 2010. EOG, Devon, Chesapeake, Southwestern and Range have most of the acreage under lease. The northern part of the County should have Haynesville Shale, Bossier Shale, Pettit and James Lime production.
This has been a long year, this next year, however, is full of promise. I for one am ready to see this area proven up, & lets add Cotton Valley and Smackover to the wishlist please.
Sabine Island Area In Northern Sabine County, Texas
The northern part of Sabine County, Texas is finally seeing activity as to the Haynesville Shale. There are several rigs running in and around the northern part of the county in San Augustine and Shelby Counties. Chesapeake will probably move 2-3 rigs into Sabine County soon to start developing there acreage blocks. The James Lime play is moving into the direction of Sabine County, Texas. This will encourage companies with leasehold to develope as well.
Developmental:
Chesapeake will drill the Hezekiah Well No. 1H to 18,000 feet 11.5 miles northwest of Milam in the Carthage (Haynesville Shale) Field. The well is in the H. Cartwright Survey, A-83.
The Barett Well No. 1 will be drilled 15 miles north of Hemphill in a wildcat field to 18,500 feet by Endeavor Natural Gas. This well is in the J. Craughan Survey, A-79.
Southwestern Energy will drill the C. Crest Well No. 1H to 12,700 feet 14.4 miles southeast of Shelbyville in the Carthage (Haynesville Shale) Field. This well is in the J. Buckley Survey, A-504.
info update: I talked with a landman this week, who has moved into the KOA in Brookeland and said he was working in Sabine County, hope to find out more about where.
They are planning on drilling the wells in Brookeland, they were good producers at Austin Caulk, but they let them flow wide open , so they tapered off , but they were still producing oil and gas when they were taken out of service. They have lieased just up to my land, I havejust a few acres in the first one. I think the first well will be a test for further south, so it is hoping the first one is good..
Can you tell me which survey your minerals are in & if they go "south", would that be in Newton or Jasper County?? A SWD well would be helpful, as I heard it used to be real expensive to get rid of the (bunch of) water...
This is just my WAG but I suspect Endeavor will drill a vertical well to see what is under the chalk. That is my hope anyhow because finding viable shale (EF/TMS) or Buda/Georgetown interval would be great for this area.

Several of us are wondering the same thing. We are keeping an eye on it but no permits yet.
A SWD was permitted about 5 miles north of Brookeland on spec. (and rumor?) that the Brookeland field is being resurrected... by someone.
