Coal prices averaged $85 from 2009-2021, then skyrocketed to the the current $400 starting Aug 2020. Cannot find a Lignite quote but assuming it has moved also. Wondering if Dolet Hills would re start Lignite mining if prices persist? Profitability potential must have improved enormously.
I received a letter regarding Brookston Energy indicating that they are requesting a permit to approve their request for surface commingling of Oil and Gas products. Do you have information about this request and how it could possibly affect our family interest.
Requests to commingle are relatively common although we do not see as many today as when the bulk of production in our region was from conventional wells. The kinds of wells that Brookston operates. The chances of the request being approved are about 100% and there is nothing you need do. The terms of your lease will still apply to the commingled production.
