Delete ECA announced Adcock 3H in Section 15, 13N, 9W, Red River at 8 mmcfd. See map in presentation on ECA website. ECA going to drill nine more HA. wells in 2008 and will have eight rigs running by YE08.

Delete It looked like from the map that the other well was in Sabine and was producing greater than 5 mmcfd...is this what you saw?

Delete Yes. It is close to RR/Sabine line. Go on sonris and look under "wells by organization". Encana has no wells in Sabine, but its partner, SWEPI, does.

If you take Encana in RR, HK in Bossier, Goodrich in DeSoto, CHK in Caddo, Camterra in Caddo/DeSoto and PVA in East Tx (North Carthage field), you can draw a big area. All we need is for SWEPI to announce some results in 9N, 10N and 11N to get Sabine covered.

In all, there have been 50 wells penetrate the HA. Shale so the oil companies have a lot of data. Not all wells were completed, but they know the Shale is there and they have logs and cores. If CHK, HK and Shell release production results from wells completed (8 horizontals by CHK alone), the lid will really blow off(see CEO Floyd Wilson in his speech last Wednesday in Houston on 50 bcfe/section and "no dry holes'). These guys are NOT idiots and they run public companies so you know they are being conservative.

Hi, My name is John and I live about 3 mi north of Coushatta on 71. I have been wanting to post some comments and information to this forum but have been to busy with company. I will have more time after this weekend. Just a couple of notes though. The DNR web site shows a drilling application hearing BRACKY BRANCH FIELD on June 17 (today).

    http://dnr.louisiana.gov/CONS/CONSEREN/hearings/2008/06JUN/08-824&825ap0001.pdf

I have a few photos of the sections and aerial map. Overlay in the photo gallery of my website. I am new at this so I hope I got this right. This area will also be forced pooled. http://doingbetterthanaverage.com/photo.html

    Hope this Helps
  • Harold (t12n r9w s6)

Hi John I own a couple of adjoining lots in Edgefield one of which has a rent house on it. It is in sec 6, township 12n, range 9w. I would appreciate it if you hear of anything going on in Edgefield to let me know if possible. I am living in S. Louisiana and havent had the time to come up and find out any info. Have a wonderful day.
  • Keith Mauck (Site Publisher)

Have heard/confirmed large tract going for $15,000 per...and it can't even be drilled until 2 years from now due to a current leasing rights.
  • Pat Freeman,T12N-R9W,Edgefield

I have a house in Edgefield and just got $5000.00 an acre for mine with Chesepeke. Pride and Petrohawk are also in here but so far has not offered this much as far as I can tell.

WONDERING about location of 15k top lease in red river parish......................THANKS
  • Duster

    Hi Harold,

From what I can tell, the Martin field (Encana)
    T13 Row 9 Sec 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and
    T13 Row 8 sec 7, 8, 17, 18, 20, 29, 30
is whats happening right now and permits have been requested for
Bracky branch field (west of Martin)
    T13 row 9 sec 7, 8, 9, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, 30
    T13 row 10 sec 12, 13

I am t13 row 10 sec 27 with 3 acre and My dad is t13 sec 26 with 6 acre
(About 2 mi west of all this) Cha ching!

I do not see anything yet in your area, but this may be a good thing. It may allow you time for lease values to go up before you may be forced pooled.

My father and I want to sign in the next 30-60 days. (If we can hold out that long without a permit being issued for our area.) We hope to get $20,000 per acre and a no drill clause. (This may seem like alot now, but look back 30 days ago.) We also hope to go in with others in the area and get a bid war going. Let me know if you may be interested. Stating next week, I will be able to be active working the all this.
    (Time)

PS I heard my neighbors have gas seeping up out of the ground. Is this a good sign? LOL

PS. I contacted the local paper about this website. I hope that they post an artical to let other know.

PS. I knew nothing about all this two mounths ago.
  • Les Bamburg

Duster, the Martin Field includes T13N-R8W-Sec 19 and T13N-R9W-Sec 15 also. These are the two sections with recent EnCana Haynesville Shale wells.

Any gas seepage is "marsh gas" as the HS is over 10,000 feet deep.
  • Harold (t12n r9w s6)

Hello everyone. If anyone hears about any public meetings concerning the Edgefield area could you please email me at haroldorr@hughes.net and let me know. I live in south louisiana and have very few contacts in Red River Parish. Thanks
  • b. davis

Any word on Sections 4 or Section 32 in RR Parish?
  • Coach_SC

Does anyone have any leasing information on Section 23 in Red River Parish. We have 60 acres in Township 14N, Range 9W. I am interested in finding out the lease price per acre in this area.
  • Duster

I plan on signing with about five other small land owners in about four to six weeks. I am T13 r10
If anyone else has not signed yet and wants to join with us to form a larger group, let me know. No fees caontracts or dues. Just sharing information and presenting ourselves as a onetime package. (I hope this is a good ideal.) We have a total of about 40+ acres so far and our goal is 20K with 25-27%. (Sound like alot)

Plus, I read today that the Ware Youth Center is accepting sealed bids until July 23th. About 80 acres and just across the street from me. I hope it does very well and we can get the same amount in the days that follow.

I also heard today a rumor today that someone at the court house (I won't name who) is saying "If you do not sign a lease with THE gas company (I do not know which they mean) and try to hold out for a few weeks, the gas company(ies) will refuse to concider signing with you. "EVER". And you will never recieve a dime even if the well is next door to you!!! Was told this is the talk of the town. I work in Shreveport and have only lived here about 2 years, so it make it hard find out whats going on in coushatta. Can someone please look into this. It's got to be false. Thanks in advance.

PS. We need more members. Spread the word about this site. I am telling everyone I meet.
  • Tim Boyet R3

Being new to this site is there any info on land in
T14N RGE09W SEC 10 & 11. I have 112 acres that the lease hopefuly runs out in November. I have the lease
papers at a lawyers now the see if the lease expires
    with no renewal.
  • Duster

If I can get $14.500 this week for my 3 acres in north Red River, should I take it? Your Votes and comments ASAP please!!!!!. I may need too decide by tues-weds

PS I also have a few friends with total of 40 acres.
  • BLZBub

Hold out for more & get with adjoining landowners
  • Hunted One

In reply to Duster: If this offer will help to put you in a better financial standing overall, I say go for it. If it really will not make significant difference in your bank account, I say stay strong and wait them out. I, for one, am not going to take any offers that will not help me to either retire early from work, send my kids to college, pay off my mortgage/debts, and keep me financially secure for a long time. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us here in Red River Parish, and I intend to make the most of it.

My attorney Cody Mayo in Shreveport is interested in talking to anyone that has signed a lease in the last three years for three hundred an acre or less. 318 469-2455 I myself signed after being agressivily pursued by a landman one year ago. I was told several lies. 1. the oil company was just trying to sew up the last few parcels in the area. I asked point blank if any new discoveries had been made. I was told no. That was not the truth. I feel I was defrauded by the landman and the oil company. Cody will not charge you anything for a consultation. He is asking for a percentage of anything above what you already have. Like if he can get me a bigger share or more on my lease we will split just that money.

I have nothing to lose with this deal.
    Mark Goff
I have Dr. Bells old place.
Call me at 318 347-8171 if you have any questions.

I would suggest anyone that has an interest in Red River Parish check the information in the EnCana presentation I posted today (3/7/09)

    Red River Parish, Section 30, 14N, 9W
Does anyone know the status re. this well by Samson? I heard that they are putting the casing? in now and that the pipeline will be finished by July 2nd. If all of this information is true, does anyone know about how long it takes to get your first royalty check, after the well is completed?
    I've heard 3 months, then I've heard 6 months---just wondering!!
  • Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant

Trisha. The time lag until royalty checks go out begins when the first gas from the well is sold, not from the date the well is completed. Unless of course a pipeline is in place and the well is "turned to sales" immediately upon completion. From the first gas sold until the first royalty check should be approximately 90 days. You will receive a "division order" from the operator stating your royalty percentage of the well's production.
  • oklahoma grl

just curious why noone is talking about activity anymore. i realize things slowed down during the economy crash, but good news updated in red river parish would be great for us out of towners that own land there. hope to hear soon. by the wat i am in t12n r9w. thanks anyone
  • Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant

There are a number of new HA Drilling Unit applications for 12N-9W on the public hearing schedule. December 1: Encana: Sections 3-5,8-10,15,16,22-24. December 8: Section 25. I expect a number of well permits will follow. Patience, you're in line. Good Luck.
  • oklahoma grl

Actually I am patient, just wondered why noone was talking about anything. seems like the last comments were dated last month or longer. Thanks for the info anyway, anything is encouraging. good luck to everyone who has leased land. may we all have good fortune together
  • BJ

Hey OK grl! Nothing new around here to report. Waiting for the hearing on the Unit on Dec. 8th, and hopefully like Skip Peel said, well permits will follow. I will comment as soon as I find something out. BJ
  • BJ

Jarretta,Well what do you know! Got another letter today creating new units in Red Oak Lake Field(look up on the discussion forum for the platt). I still think that the other part of your land has not been included in a unit yet. I'll keep in touch. BJ
  • Mack P. Bray

Any know what a fair sign-on bonus would be for 688 acres in Red River Parish?
  • Ralph Joslin

I saw the setup in Section 18 on the Adcock land. The rumor was (this heard in May while I was home from Iraq for R&R) equipment would be on site on 8 June. My wife tells me she sees no movement. is there any info? I don't see any gas over here in Iraq, only lots of dust!
  • Les Bamburg

Ralph, I would expect EnCana to move a drilling rig to the Adcock 18 well soon.
  • Michael Waters

HELP Has anyone out there heard any news about Sec-22 T-14N R 9W. We are surrounded by wells but nothing in our section from what I have been told- Any information would be greatly appreciated.
  • Les Bamburg

Michael, as you stated there has not been a permitted Haynesville Shale well for your section. This may be a function of operator priorities (J-W) and acreage held by production status and/or lease expiration dates. The following is the unit for your section that would include the Haynesville Shale.

S22-T14N-R9W, CV RB SURR Unit, J-W, Woodwardville Field, Red River Parish
  • Michael Waters

    Les I appreciate the info.
  • Jeff

Does anyone have an update on the pipeline being laid into
33 and 34-12-9? I know the well in 34-12-9 is still waiting to be frac'd. I assume it is because of the pipeline construction. I haven't been down there in a while.
  • Les Bamburg

Jeff, the pipeline being laid into Sections 33 & 34 is the CenterPoint Energy Field Services Magnolia System. CenterPoint recently said this system is essentially complete except for well connects.

Brownie the two wells are as follows:

EnCana, Brown SW Min 33 #H1 Well, Serial #241376, S33-T12N-R9W
    Shell, Evelyn Nelson 34 #H1 Well, Serial #240978, S34-T12N-R9W
  • Jeff

Les, thanks for the info. Any idea why Swepi would be waiting to frac the Evelyn Nelson well? I thought the hold up was the pipeline.
  • Les Bamburg

Jeff, notice CenterPoint said essentially complete so there may still be some final work required. Also, I believe the frac crews have a backlog of wells and this could be holding up getting to Section 34.
  • Glenda Simmons

It seems like wells are being drilled all around our property in Sec 29/T14N/R10W. We have leased with Petrohawk, but we have not been contacted. Any info about wells in this area? Thank you for your help.
  • T. Larry Smith

Does anyone know where I can get a map of RR Parish on line showing all STRs?
    Thanks
  • FXEF

  • stephen c. robinson

we have been in production since 8-11 no check yet, but maybe getting close . encana has verified tid # on me w-9 form so maybe they gonna spill some ink
  • Jamie

Can anyone give any infromation about what happen to the well that was going up in section 26 in red river parish?  Everything has been cleared out and the pipes have been layed but no more activity.  We heard that the night before the rock was to be lied for the well - they were told not to do it.  Just wondering if this is true and what could have been the problem.

  • Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant

Jamie, there are numerous Section 26s in Red River Parish.  Without a township and range to go with the section or other information that would indicate which well you are asking about, no one can give you an answer.
  • BJ

Skip, Jamie, and and anyone else who may know anything about this pad that was to be and got pulled.  Skip, I know what you've said about the possibilty of why this pad in no longer, but you have to understand that I live right here at the pad site and something definitely happened to make Encana stop. If you remember, I asked this question earlier to see if you know  why. They came in here and was only going to build a small pad, then within days, it was going to be a superpad, then when it was ready for the rock, the next thing we knew they were filling in the hole. I also know that the a lot of the leases that were to expire in May-June did get extended for 1 year. Leases in this area are still being extended for a year. I realize that you probably don't know this area very well, but there is a major subdivision on Grand Bayou Lake with a lot of big names that have built where this pad site was supposed to be. I cant't help but fill like Encana will come back here to this area within a year, for one thing I also know that they have marked and paid for a pad site in S25 a couple of years ago. Maybe I'm just wishful thinking about that, but I would still like to find out about the pad site in S26 12 9. Hope someone out there will share info if they have any as to why? Thanks
  • Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant

BJ.  EnCana was exercising extension options in the 4th Quarter of 2010 and even some into the 1st Quarter 2011.  Then they just stopped and started allowing leases to expire that are right next door literally to the ones they extended just a month or two before.  This change in direction is less about the prospective nature of the rock in a particular area as it is a corporate decision at the highest levels to spend limited capital in maximizing cash flow profit.  In general that means not drilling any new sections and drilling alternate unit wells in sections already drilled where infrastructure exists.  I hope that Section 26 will get a well on that pad but I don't put good odds on it.  Only the local EnCana staff knows for sure.  Have you tried calling them?
  • Jamie

Our leases was up in March and it was not extended. We called to get more info and were told that the money was not there to leases the land. They were hoping that within the next few years the money would be. I don't believe that - because we were also told it closed more to do the work to cover everything back then to go ahead with the drilling.

It is a little frustrating to see all the trees down and the area messed up -for what- no reason!! There were many beautiful Oak trees that were cut down. We would just like to know the truth.
  • cocodrie man

The guesses/estimates of the price of natural gas necessary for drilling to begin again in the Haynesville vary greatly.  The variables are many and confusing.  One guess said that drilling would begin again at $4.15 in places where the infrastructure is in place (such as Red River Parish and much of the Haynesville Play).  Other estimates for dry gas have been much higher.  As Les B has demonstrated, there are many pads, sites, and leases waiting to be drilled.  What price must gas achieve in order for the drilling to resume?
