Jim..your post made me laugh...the big city of goldonna oh my...this might be a stupid ? but which Well were you referring to that you couldnt get info on?.....was there one in Goldonna?....that was be a huge shock
Jim I am in 16N 8W. (Jamestown area). The 3-D is scheduled for our area pretty soon. We were told around Sept. Let me know if you get a group together, we would be interested.
Jim, where did you hear about landmen in Winn parish? Do you know of any leasing going on there-especially near Dodson. I heard that they drilled a discovery well near Dodson but can't seem to find out anything about it.
Any help or info you have on activity in Winn would be greatly appreciated.
Thank
Marley
Hi, Jim, I was interested in your statement that you don't believe the HS extends into Winn. Who do you work for and what is that based on? They are doing tons of seismic work in Northwest Winn and I was told by them that they are looking for the HS there. Chesapeake has leased some of my land up there and I have several other leases from two years ago.. I own quite a bit of land in Winn but also in Bossier, Claiborne and Grant so I am trying to find out what is happening. Is it true that the boundaries of the HS are still fluid? I am out of state so it is hard to find out any info.
Thanks for taking time to chat.

Hey Jim, I checked out the SONRIS site and found the well on the Big Pipeline. 24-13N-4W. It was drilled to 6700 ft code 32(dry hole) and as of 6/10/08 was sheduled to be plugged and abandoned, but oddly it didn't show it being plugged. So I don't know. Most of the wells show a completion date to P&A, but this one does not. I haven't been down there in a while so I might go check it out when the rain clears. Woody
You say they are doing seismic work, west? How far? Anyway from the info I gather nothing has ever been drilled to the depth they are talking about the HS in all of Winn Parish. Only one or 2 since the 70's have gone past 12k. most in the parish that produce are shallow in the southern TS's.
Been on Vac just arrived home went to visit son/family in Michigan. I don't live in Ringgold but visit almost every weekend.
My mother and her sister leased last week with Petro for $9000. I couldn't talk here out of it she doesn't really need the money right now ....better to wait. They are leasing above Ringgold into south Webster . Mom had 87 acres and her sister had over 100 in the Bistaneau community. I only have 40 acres that is free the rest is held by production from a old 20+ year old Rodessa gas well. It only makes a 1 to 2 million of gas every month so its not very productive anymore. I am sure the operator will sell Haynesville rights to PetroHawkor Questar as the are buying most of the leases in this area. Questar has a lot of older leases around , they are drilling the Wigging well below Ringgold their first Haynesville well. Know a guy in Ringgold that turned down 15,000 almost in the city.
Did they get the 3D done around you? I heard they were doing a shoot east of Fryburg/ Jamestown and Castor/Martin on to the river.

Jim, I am in S20, T14N, R6W and also in S12, T14N, R6W
in Bienville Parish. Winn Parish S7, T13N, R5W.
I think it is a great idea for landowners to get together and try to get a better lease or at least post their offers so that we can all make a more informed decision.
Offers are very generous here in the Bossier/Caddo area where I live however some have signed for much less because they just did not know what was out there at the time they signed their lease.
jim i read the following post from you on the site....
I don't have any section #, but I can tell you what I know. Around the cross roads of Hwy 126 and 505 toward Winnfield and toward Dodson up to the Big pipe line west of Dodson. I spoke to a man yesterday just down the road from the well that was drilled by the big pipe line, and he told me that the land man has not made it that far east, he lives just east of the big pipe line on Hwy 126. The well is just west of the pipe line.
have you found out any further info on this well...my land is in the 12-6 area of goldonna la
Jim, my sister-in-law also has 19.09 acres in Bienville Parish, S12, T14N, Range R6W. She stated she would like to be a part of the group if one is formed.
I don't know all I need to know at this time about the oil company activities. I am wondering... I hear the companies will set up the wells close to a section line and do horizontal drilling on that section as well as on the next section, therefore sucking out the oil from the adjoining section with no royalties paid to those landowners. Is there a way to protect ourselves from this type of drilling at the time of signing our lease. Just wondering...
From previous water well drilling on the property the lignite is 650 feet from the top of the ground. The water wells are 850 feet deep. There are 2 wells involved on my 14 acres and my brother's 10 acres which adjoin each other. Both were set out with superior pines in 2005. My brother and I will lease our land but it will be at a fair price and will not be donated to the oil or gas companies. We are well aware of the amount people are being paid for leases and $400.00 will not be enough! I'd rather watch my pine trees grow!
I would be glad to be a part of a Bienville group to meet and discuss the options.
Vernon field is in Jackson parish 16n & 17n 1w,2w 3w 4w, cotton valley. produced by Anadarko sold to Exco. Next biggest gas field in La. after Elm Grove
Jim I have land in Section 35 Winn Parish. I have not been contacted by anyone yet regarding a lease. Do you have any idea how far along they are with leases
Hey Jim, I know I hate the way the main page is in regards to locating Natchitoches Parish. If you go to the main page where all the parishes/counties are located go to the very bottom and hit the link view all and you'll then be able to find natch parish forum. If you click on the messenger discussion you will read where ms messenger has since posted and if you visit her page you'll see all the pictures from the well. If you check on the main pages pictures link you'll find not only all the pictures ms messenger posted you'll find some aerial shots of the area as well.
When you can post your pics, it's been great to see the well finally. Thanks for always keeping me posted about the area. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that.
Talk to you soon,
