Melinda, Can you tell me what you signed for. The reason I am intersted is what can we expect on a 1st offer and how much can it change in the matter of months. At some point everyone has to make a decision about what they think is fair and go with it.
Thanks Ms. Melinda , This has been a difficult couple of days for our group but I believe we have turned a corner.I will be posting our next get together real soon. Thanks again and have a great weekend!
I can't confirm or disprove so I really can't say. Looks too big too early but stranger things have happened.I will just have to take it for what it is at this point , speculation. Meeting on the 14th at the high school. Hope you can make it.
Ive known mike for a very long time...he owns alott of land....up north of town....Mike also likes to stretch the truth a good bit...I will find out in more detail soon...and let you know...Yea my messages are private...but keep sending them, I read and delete them...there are people on this site that i am not real sure of....
Melinda, I just made a call and they said that they havent heard anything about that deal....they know he leased some land in Bossier Parish for a large amount...He has land everywhere...no telling where it was at...someone probably just heard he had leased it for X amount an assumed it was on his cotton land off of 79 in the valley on the right going toward homer...
Melinda I was reading through posts about the salt dome efect and saw your query about Sec 25 T 19 R 9. My land is in Sec 25 also. Are you going to the Beech Springs meeting next week? Have you had any definitive info come to light about our prospects right there against the dome?
There is now a thread that's been started by Bruce about the Beech Spgs meeting on the 22nd. Yes, it is an owners' based group--no fee, no percentage as best as I can tell.
The meeting to avoid is the one coming up Thurs at the Minden VoTech. I believe it is likely a percentage fee meeting set up by an independent organizer.
I was checking out Snake's group a well. Will make a decision after the Beech Spgs meeting. At this point I'm thinking a smaller, tighter band of local owners might be better than a large group with locations all over the map. Nothing to base that on--the idea just seems to feel better. I'll be interested in getting feel for the Beech Spgs group leadership at the upcoming meeting.
So... you've heard there may be gas under the dome? In the shale or in some other form? I understand the salt rose up through the shale--just wondering if it pushed up through and has a wide base, or if it came through like an air bubble "boils" up allowing the shale to somehow close back up under it--and therefore be intact for drilling.
Melinda, Here isa followup to my post earier this evening. This is a quote from one of Bruce's posts:
"We will be planning committees and assignments and we will have a speaker to touch on the tax/financial aspects of our windfall when we recieve our payments. Also we are in the process of trying to contact a geologist from the Shreveport area to discuss the salt dome effect and other environmental impacts to our area. Please remember we are a no fee, no percent group who wants everyone to receive every penny that they deserve. "
Melinda,
I read through some of your post and saw where you showed some entrast in the salt dome issue in webster parish! Have you got any solid information on this and how it may effect the shale?
Just dropping by to say hello. Have one "shale" of a day. Also, there some new profile questions. Check those out by clicking HERE. We are also coming up on our 10,000th member. Be sure to celebrate with me. Click HERE for more about that.
Will-Drill was purchased by PetroHawk from the owner of JAG operating in July or Aug of last year for 288 million Dollars. PetroHawk also owns KCS which drills in Bossier and Jackson Parishes under the KCS name. A vertical well will hold the section until they have the time and money to drill the hortizonal leg. This is a reason you should add a revision sheet to their lease to specify any Haynesville drilled well would have hortizonal wellbore in the Haynesville zone. Some companys are drilling the vertical well and logging it then bringing in a larger drilling rig to drill the hortzional part.. it is more cost effective since the larger rigs cost around $40,000 per day and the smaller rigs half or less.
