I'm running a tad behind with my GHS.com correspondence. LOL! I just saw your message from August. Things are only so-so here right now; I'm having surgery to remove my thyroid day after tomorrow. Hopefully that, and gaining some thyroid hormone stability through medication, will let me have my life back.
This has been a long and thorny two year ride through the frustration of watching my health going downhill. I'm so thankful I'm in the U.S. though - Obama may think Canada and the U.K. have all the answers when it comes to healthcare but Lord help thyroid patients there where tests and treatment is being downgraded and/or phased out. I couldn't even get tests I need if I were in either place.
I have what I believe is an excellent team of doctors and I have every hope that things are fixing to get better. It may take awhile but I'm finally moving in the direction of hope.
Thank you so much for the get well balloon! I like virtual gifts! LOL! I'm home - I ran into some complications after surgery (parathyroids were damaged) and was held prisoner for an additional 3 days...having blood tests every 4-6 hours around the clock. Who can say "PAINFUL"??? Gheez!
I really do feel better than I've felt in ages and it's only been a week tomorrow since the surgery. I thought I might get re-admitted yesterday (following yet another blood test) but the surgeon never called. I'm assuming no news is good news!
