there is no reason we could not enact legislation that would "nudge" electrical utilities into idling dirty old coal plants, using NG-fired capacity that <i>we already have</i><br />

so, if "the environment" is the true motivator behind the so-called "carbon tax" why haven't we done this already? nothing else will be so simple…

short or maybe even medium term relief with nuclear is more pie in the sky nonsense, not because i think nuclear is bad, just because i have no faith in our government's ability to permit and construct nuclear power plants with union labor in a timely manner.<br />

this administration has no energy policy much beyond making it cost more.
