I think our home was designed by someone who never lived in a house! LOL! It has so many design flaws, ie., the kitchen pantry is app. 16" wide and probably 3 1/2 ' deep and there are shelves almost to the ceiling and all the way to the floor. My arms aren't long enough to really reach the back of the shelves and I have to actually lie down on the floor to access anything on the bottom shelves.

There is no space in either bathroom for dirty clothes hampers or anything to collect dirty clothes.

Some spaces are too big, others are too small - but we love it and have lived here over 35 years. There is practically no exterior maintenance and the tiny backyard I've fussed about for years is now just about all the space I need to piddle around with my gardening projects. We're fixing to have three trees pruned that I suspect will cost $1,500-$2,000.

Most of our friends seem to be downsizing and moving to smaller homes but I feel like we're O.K. - I hope so anyway!

Thanks for the compliments! Denise is such a total joy to us. She is a busy, happy soul - every day is a new adventure!

Sitting here typing, with your album slideshow visible, I'm once again impressed with how beautiful the roses are. Your new house is equally as beautiful - the beauty of nature is obviously important to you.

What's the story with the stained glass?

Our daughter, the pretty gypsy in my album with the faux-dragonfly tattoo, was married at The American Rose Center. I can't remember the year but a tornado struck this general area not long after we arrived for a Friday night rehearsal and everyone had to crowd into the little chapel - with no electricity.

I went to bed that night sure the next morning would be a royal disaster but the sky was beautiful, the sun was streaming through the damp air and everyone said it all seemed mystical. We were able to do everything as planned with the wedding and reception.

I am home now. And have no plans to play hooky again until the first of next month when I may go to Jefferson for the pilgrimage. This year's events will include a civil war battle and camp reinactment. Galatoire's was great. And Houmas House is my new favorite plantation.

I agree. The bashing detracts from the substantive information that some attempt to provide for the members. If you would be willing to share something positive from your experience with CHK, it could help. If and when you feel comfortable to do so. As to the financial state of CHK, they are actually in a better position than most of the posts would suggest. This is a response that I made earlier today in regard to CHK's hedge position.

Earl. Your old friends at CHK have been out hedgin' up a storm. Their latest production hedges follow. They have been busy little buggers since I last checked. And their hedge positions have improved.

71% of 4Q’08, 74% of 2009 and 48% of 2010 production hedged at average prices of $9.00, $8.48
and $9.81 per mcfe, respectively

Not bad, huh?

Congratulations! I'm hoping Chesapeake gets everyone paid in the New Year. It would be beneficial to tone down some of the invective on the site. And CHK bashing spills over to the industry as a whole. Unfair to many companies and keeps all those unleased landowners anxious and confused. Yes, I hope the New Year brings a sense and acceptance of the new reality. 'The real culprit is the economy. But it's less fun to bemoan the poor economy than to bash the big bad O&G for some members who shall not be named. Sent a message to Haynesville concerning the invitations. I'll let you know.

Hey thar, Louzanne. Happy Holiday dear. Hope Mark is selling lotsa dem trees. Dec. 23 Haynesville is having a little private get together here in town. Don't remember which members were invited but it was a relatively short list. He can't exactly invite all 8,600 of us. If you and Fang would like to attend, I might wrangle ya an invite. Hope your deal is wrapped up. Have a wonderful holiday season. Luv, SP

Yes, I work on contract basis, so that happens - the whole project was cancelled, but they hope to start back up with limited staff - but you never know. I really liked working for them too. The oil & gas business is pretty crazy right now, They are affected by the economic times, stock market and oil & gas prices. I will find something else, Had 3 offers when I took this job - Probably won't be so lucky this time. That's the way it goes. Feast or famine. Hope all is well with you two.

Why thank you Louzanne. Coming to "Unhappy Hour"? I don't like the title and have asked KB to consider changing it. Not many have RSVP'd.
