I am writing an oped on royalty deductions, but I needs a success story, for some reason I always go back to your story: ) Can I use it in the OpEd. Basically, I'd need this - an example of a family that's putting its kids through college, paying its mortgage, etc. with royalties. I would use myself, but that wouldn't work since i am writing it. lol
Just dropping by to say hello. Have one "shale" of a day. Also, there some new profile questions. Check those out by clicking HERE. We are also coming up on our 10,000th member. Be sure to celebrate with me. Click HERE for more about that.
Hey Thanks insomniacnla that's what I needed. That's what I was thinking I just wasn't sure. What do you think? Should I contact Samson? They seem to be the ones that have taken over the unit. You think they will talk to me and give me info over the phone? I have found an office and phone number in Houston.
My Uncle said the attorney feels the chances are good at winning. XTO has sent letters to members in the pool trying to get them to sign....to avoid litigation. However, they dropped the offer from $12,900 to $6,800 an acre, 3yr. lease, 25%
royalty.
Insomniac,
This is Bobbie Clark with The Times. I got your message. I was out of the office today. I'd would definitely like to speak with you. My email address is bobbieclark@gannett.com. Send me your contact information again, so I can call you tomorrow.
Thanks,
Bobbie
I didn't want to advise too much, without knowing details.... Even when I do know details, I usually don't offer advice -- everyone has different levels of need, risk-tolerance, and timeframes. So, I was very cautious with her, and just kept advising caution.
If your idea is right, that it is a non-binding letter of intent (why do people sign non-binding things???), then I can't see that they have a case. It would seem like the deal is off.
Also, 10N, 10W is an area of low activity. It's not (yet, at least) in the area where SWEPI is taking over, and I don't see anyone forming any units in 10N,10W. She will probably just have to sit for several years, until activity moves into that area. But, I'm not going to tell her that yet.
The Glen Rose wells don't hold my friend. They only hold 1/2 the people in Sec. 21. She was out of town the mo. they were signing people. Some of the people who signed in 2006 haven't rec'd royalty cks. as the wells were drilled prior; however they no longer have the right to lease as they are tied up by the lease they signed then. My friend just wants them to "drill baby, drill" in S21
