Has anyone heard of any leasing activity on the eastern portion of the parish? I am speaking of the area south of Arcadia.

Clinton. I have no specific lease information for the area you mention. I do know that the Bienville Parish Clerk of Court's record room is a busy place with a lot of landmen so leasing is definitely occurring. The Clerk's records are public and most keep what is called a "day book". If you want facts, not hear say, stop in and ask William to show you the day book. You may have to flip back a number of days as lessees tend to record their leases in groups. The day book notations should give you the section - township - range where the leases are located, what company(s) is leasing and the royalty percentage of the leases. Bonus rental payments are not included in O&G leases. It is time for mineral owners in Bienville to be on their toes. Good Luck.
Hi Skip, Do you have any lease amounts in the 16N 8W 22 or 15 N 8W 23? Appreciate any info you have on interest in these areas....I could go look too at the record room if you have not heard anything specific.

Thanks,

Lynn
Lynn. It's a good idea to visit the record room if you can however the recorded leases will not show bonus rental amounts. When members ask about current offers or lease amounts, that's what they are usually referring to. I would say, depending on location, the bonus range should be $5k to $12k based on other considerations such as size of mineral tract, potential for surface use, proximity to good producing wells, etc. Each case is different and all specifics should be taken into consideration.
Thanks Skip, you always have valuable insight.....
Thanks Skip! Great advice and I will go by and check this out when I am in Arcadia in a few months.
