Has anyone in the San Augustine area been approached by XTO regarding leasing?

Comment by jffree1 on December 16, 2010 at 18:08

Yes, it is pretty much the same presentation from Nov. and Dec.  I didn't look to see if I had already posted it and I sometimes forget what happened last month... or yesterday, for that matter.

I haven't seen the EnCana map but EOG has one that is pretty interesting.

I saw an Encana map that showed the Haynesville shale going right thru the center of angelina cty. Would anyone know of any other maps like this? I was trying to find out if my land was in the shale area or outside of it. I tried to lay another map over to see yet What's to scale right? And I know the boundaries seem to be changing daily as new data comes in.  There was a water well drilled on my property and it could never be used due to the gas coming out of it! That is exciting yet does not mean anything. Probably some shallow gas that has leached upward but hey its still exciting!

There is a 3D shoot planned in Angelina, along the river. It's probably on the Nacogdoches page but I posted maps of the areas some time back.

EOG has updated their map of the play in the latest presentation.

Hey Guys! What's new. Anybody got an update. Seems like everyone is
asleep today.

The same with posting any personal information to the Internet in general. I perform land and mineral related research for land/mineral owners so I use my real name and include that I am an independent landman. I was also among the original site sponsors. If there is no benefit to using your real name, it's best to avoid doing so out of an abundance of caution. Nicknames are okay in my book. IMO, using a full legal name as some members do is not a good idea.

For someone who is naive about this, what are the security issues?

Jo Ann and Karen. If you want to get some accurate feedback from the members with knowledge of your area, you should post your survey. In most cases that is sufficient information to elicit some specific comments of possible value. Read through the other E. TX. discussions in other county groups. You will soon make up your mind which members are knowledgeable. You can ask them questions on their personal site pages if you are uncomfortable doing so on the Main Page or on a group page. Finally is you are really concerned, delete you member profile then rejoin using a fictitious name. Keith suggests that all new members consider doing so as a basic security precaution.
