EnCana Completes 1st Haynesville Shale Well in Redoak Lake Field (7/15/10)

EnCana has completed the first Haynesville Shale well in the Redoak Lake Field and it is also the first well in T11-R9W.

Please note this is the first Haynesville Shale well to be tested with a flowing pressure above 10,000 psi. This indicates the well was likely capable of a rate near 30 MMcfd if produced on a more typical choke size. This is excellent news and pushes the play boundary to the southeast.

EnCana, John Mondello 29 #H1 Well, Serial #240253, S29-T11N-R9W, Red River Parish, 13292 Mcfd, 16/64" Choke, 10007 psi Flowing Pressure

Les,

That is great news!
Les,
WOW, maybe we can make a new "core" or at least stretch this one a little.
Do you know how far this one is from #240978 in 34/12/9? Still waiting on frac.
Jeff, the well would be ~ 5 miles to the southwest.
Are these wells (in Redoak Lake Field) any where next to: Section 10 Township 11 Range 9 If so I would be very interested in being apart of the conversation
Are these new Redoak Lake fields any where near: Section 10 Township 11 Range 9. if they are are I would be interested in participating in this conversation.
Bill Wilson,
The John Mondello well is about 3 miles southwest of you. You are in a great area.
Bill, here are three other Haynesville Shale wells in T11N-R9W in the Redoak Lake Field. The Lewis Interests well has spudded already but not completed and tested.

EnCana, Simpson Min 38 #H1 Well, Serial #241416, S38(23)-T11N-R9W
EnCana, Lewis Interests 39 #H1 Well, Serial #241404, S39(26)-T11N-R9W
Shell, John Mondello 51 #H1 Well, Serial #241428, S51(28)-T11N-R9W
Thanks, Les B, for this information. Since I am new to all of this I am unfamilier with the serial numbers and the siting or designations: "T11N-R9W, etc". Here again are these siting in the general area of Section 10 Township 11 Range 9. Any in-put extended would be greatly appreciated.
Bill.
They are all within 3 miles of you.
Bill, the attached diagram may help you understand the arrangement of sections within a township-range. The three wells are in Sections 23, 26 & 28. As BD said the wells are about three miles south of Section 10.

T11N-R9W has some section numbering that is non-standard because of its proximity to the Red River. This is the reason the Mondello well is in Section 51 but this is equivalent to Section 28. That is the reason for the section numbers shown in ( ).

Thanks "Les B" and "BirdDawg." This conversation along with the visual (section map) has peaked my interest. This conversation provides foundation to join up with T. Boone Pickiens and the Pickiens Plan.

Are these section any where near what is termed: the CORE of the play? Thanks in advane for any reply.
Bill, based on the results of the Mondello & Joanna Carson wells I would definitely consider T11N-R9W & T12N-R9W to be in the core of the Haynesville/Bossier Shale play at this time. Now I would just like to see some additional well test results in the two townships.
