Does anyone have any experience with this company?  They are offering me a "pre lease" with bonus, which I'm not signing.  I am leased to another company and Paloma wants to piggy back on the end of that lease.  The rate they are offering for 2016 is a joke.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

jennifer, ust above your discussion on the Main Page is a blank box labeled, "Looking For Something".  Type in Paloma and search for the past discussions on the company.  While you wait for any replies to your discussion you can review what has been posted about Paloma previously.

Thank you!  I kept searching after I made the post.  I found plenty of information to decide I did not want to deal with a block buster.

You're welcome.  It may be a help to others if you would consider stating the terms of the offer and the general location of your mineral interest.  TMS members are in either LA or MS and there is substantive difference between the two regarding how lands are leased and pooled.  If you like you could just provide the parish or county.

Sure!  I am in LA in Tangi and St Tamany parish.  I will pull my offer and post shortly.

jennifer, where are you located in St Tammany, if I may ask?

Paloma in the general sense is an E&P (Exploration & Production) company.  However there are myriad ways to run an energy company.  Many private energy companies have equity firms backing them financially.  Paloma's business model seems to focus on acquiring interests in producing minerals by leasing and then drilling however they prefer to have another company operate the wells while they participate as a Working Interest.  Paloma's past history is that they occasionally operate their own wells although that seems to be the exception instead of the rule.  Paloma Resources is registered as an operator with the State of Louisiana.  This affords them the right to form drilling units.  With the state's approval Paloma can operate those units or designate another company to operate their units.  Paloma has now started applying for drilling unit.  Once approved we will have to wait and see if Paloma will operate or whether they will seek another company to operate.  Here is what Paloma states regarding their business model and and link to their TMS website page.

Paloma Resources is a private oil and gas exploration and production company founded in 2004 and headquartered in Houston, Texas. Backed by the financial strength of Encap Investments and Macquarie Americas, Paloma Resources has established an extensive track record of creating significant value for its stakeholders
