Held Under Old Leases

Or maybe a well was a good one, and we found that the unit lines were changed, (without notice) and we were no longer part of that unit which had a good producing well. At one point a new well was drilled, and it was said, to have high gas pressure. My Mother worked with the landman to help get the local people… Continue

Thanks Les, He is on his last night, and will be coming home in the morning. It's been really bad this week for the men. His buddy, that signed on with him, walked off the job at 3:00am. on Sunday morning. My son said, everything on the rig is "Junk" When he arrived on the site, and started rigging up with them, he reconized the old rig, he told me they had bought it from Patterson or one of those companies, and were re-building it...on site. There were no tool, he took his own tools went he went back. Said, you can go on-line a see that old rig when they pulled in down on top of a man and broke his back, (you know this kind of thing happens) Any way, he's on his last night and it's going to rain all night, and he works derricks, he's already sick from sleeping in a moldy, dirty old crew house, with about 12 others. But, he gets 7 days off, to get well, before going back for more of the same...Ha I may have to drive over there and help him rent something clean to live in. He says they are going so deep that they will be there for months.
I have a small hotel in Center, and he has driven over there a few nights to sleep, but it's really to far to drive. Do they really have YMCA???? With the homeless and drugie, I would a think they would be pretty bad places to stay. But, I don't know.

EB, I am wondering if your son is on a Unit rig. The following two are both working near the Red River but I think it may be the one in Caddo Parish. Unfortunately I don't have any housing information but wonder if you may want to post a discussion item in the Caddo Parish and Red River Parish Groups. I even wonder if he could stay at a YMCA. I hope someone has something available.

Glad to hear from you, EB! Was thinking about you the other day and wondering how the pipeline deal worked out and if the Powdrill was paying you anything yet. Glad to hear it is going good for you. I guess with all the stuff you had going it was pretty hard to git back in here and swap stories. Good to see you back.

Welcome back Eat Beef! ( I saw your post on Intrepid's page) I am back as well, as the landman called last week. Kinda funny that you mentioned all the landmen back in records on Monday...what is going on down there? Has one of the wells finally spud well and they are getting ready to release info to the general public? What is the word on the streets in Center? Please keep me posted, and I'm glad you've had a great year!

They are in Shelby County. I haven't posted in forever, as I haven't been on much. Here is a link to the Tyler Paper. The drilling report is in the business sections and comes out every Sunday. http://tylerpaper.com/article/20090301/BUSINESS03/902280403/-1/BUSINESS Have I been missing anything new and exciting?

My information indicates the Rowan #61 Rig is still working in West Texas (TRRC 8) for Chesapeake. Maybe it will be on location in the next week or two.
