Has any one received a draft in the mail offering to buy out your mineral rights in San Augustine, Texas?

Yes... shred it, burn it, then flush the ashes down the toilet!
Or take it to the local paper and talk them into publishing an article concerning the solicitation. The local television station would be even better.
I have received six inquiries so far, but no drafts. One letter requested a meeting with me. I trashed them all. Some were non-specific offering to buy any acreage in San Augustine County, but two named specific spots where wells are being drilled. The operators don't always inform royalty owners when wells are being drilled (at least only one of four told me, and that was because the drill site is on my property), so it is possible that speculators could be trying to connect with someone who is unaware of the royalty income potential in the "Shelby Trough.".
Those guys are capitalistic vultures. They force you to respond in writing, go after your young if you refuse!

I have received one. Terrible way to do business. What do these guys know that we don't know. I guess it does mean you are in a area of interest.
