I know operators are drilling the BO and results appear to be very positive. Are they now trying to define the boundaries? Are there any good data reports delving in to the BO and what it's potential might be? Who's map is correct out of all the BO boundary maps? Is the BO going to take a back seat to the HA due to all the HBP? What is a logical time frame to expect a 1st well in the BO if one's property is in it? HA talk is very bombastic and exciting but why is the BO usually not included in this talk? Doesn't it stand to reason that it might dramatically improve the recoverable natgas in the region thus making it also an exciting topic?

Thanks to all you guys for the info.

Grasshopper.
Finally, ENCANA has made an update on SONRIS to show that both of these wells have been potentialed, but not what their potentials were. ENCANA stated a long time ago that the Jimmy Brown well tested 20 mmcfd. I also heard ( scuttle butt ) that both wells went on-line about a month ago.

ENCANA doesent update SONRIS very well, do they?
An Operator (i.e. Encana) is required to file official completion information with the Office of Conservation, Shreveport District Office, no later than 20-days after completing the well (actually selling their gas via pipeline) (Call 318/676-7585- Shreveport District Office).
Grasshoper, the hold-up is with the State - not EnCana. In many cases the state potential reports do not get input into Sonris until months after they were submitted by the operator.
The Shreveport District Office is the first state office to receive the completion info, therefore, by directly calling the District Office a person can find such info before SONRIS reflects the data online. FYI.
Thanks again, all of you.
Les, how can you tell if EnCana is drilling in the HA or BO? I looked up the #240294 and didn't see BO.
Parkdota, you can only tell which specific formation (Haynesville Shale or Mid-Bossier Shale) if the operator identifies for the well in a press release, presentation, conference call, etc. Otherwise, it not possible to distinguish between the two because both formations are included in the same unit (zone).

Parkdota, have you been able to get anymore info to know if our/your area of T14/R14 Desoto are in Bossier also

Another question I have had on my mind is if the Haynesville is the deeper layer and has been drilled then is it possible to use the same vertical to come off with a second horizontal leg at the shallower Bossier layer? Has anything like this been tried or even talked about? Seems like this would possibly save a lot of money over drilling 2 wells.
Jeff, several operators have stated it is not technically feasible to drill horizontal laterals into both formations from the same wellbore because both formations require multi-stage frac'ed laterals. Also, it would not save a significant amount of money because most of the well cost is in drilling the horizontal lateral and performing the frac job.
Les it is feasible to frac many laterals with out pulling out of the hole. If any one would like any information let me know.
