I thank you for all the advice. As this plays out we are finding more and more how hard it is to find the right answers. It surely helps to have the imput of people like you and Jim who are trying their best to help. I know that a lawyer will be in the picture before we sign anything. It does seem that the man we talked with about the easement lease is very accomodating to our needs and has urged us to contact a lawyer to look over the contract before signing anything. This has been very different than dealing with leasing our mineral rights. I have also posted this thread on the North Caddo blog but have not had any response. We are going to need to think this through. We haven't mentally spent the money , but it would sure help! Good luck to you as well and DRILL BABY DRILL!!!

good luck! and if you do get a lawyer, I would love to know what they charge..please post with name of lawyer also. We are hoping to be leased soon also.

Keb,
I would suggest that you talk to attorney Randall Davidson at (318) 424-4342. Even if you handle all of the negotiations yourself you want a good attorney to make sure that your document says what the gas company states it says. Mr. Davidson is rated AV in oil and gas, which is the highest rating that an attorney can receive. Kassi is also using him. I see that you are in Texas, make sure that you use someone who practices law in Louisiana. Our laws are quite different than in Texas.
