Anthony,

Leasing has slowed in the Southern part of DeSoto. Alot of the Operators have more acreage than they have time to drill. I am still suprised you haven't been contacted in the last year. I know in 2009 alot of leases were bought in T11N - R11W. Is the property under your name? It might be Held by an old lease or like mentioned before a Coal Lease. I have an Acct. with Desoto Clerk and could check it out.
Sorry for the delay . . . Yes, the lease is dated back in 1984 and was held in my grandmother's name Eleverna Rock Horton and I am one of the two heirs. If you could find out any contact information it would be greatly appreciated.
received a letter from petrohawk saying they were unitizing this section.
Could you post that letter? I would like to get in contact with someone to get it under a lease. Also, could you provide the contact information for Sampson operator? Thanks
all i have is the letter that is normally sent out prior to being posted on the dnr site of scheduled hearings. i do not have a number for petrohawk because i am leased to encana in that section.
Anthony, you need to call Petrohawk. I worked that area and bought some leases but the project was shut down. Having a phone number that is listed really helps a landman do his job. I remember two brothers that I was trying to find when the project was shut down but can't remember their names, this may have been you. I was told that one brother lived in the area and the other was in California, I also remember running the title on your grandmother.
Yes, you are absolute correct that was my brother and me. I am in California trying to do most of the foot work and was not aware neither of our phone numbers were listed. It is very dificult trying to connect to the right person from a distance. I had previously spoken to a land man by the name of Jim Cornay back in 09' but the negotiations were not favorable at that time. However, I will follow up with a phone call to Petrohawk. Do you know what's the going rate now? And if the the drilling moritorium has affected the prospects favorably in the oil and gas industry? Thanks TDP Your information has been a big help to me in trying to sort through this massive flow of data.
Sorry I couldn't get to you before the shut down. It seems like I talked to a lady that was involved with the succession of your grandmother or your parent, just can't keep it all in my head and it is buried in a two foot tall stack of papers. But this lady lived down the road from the brother that lived in the area and I asked her to give him my phone number. I have no idea of an amount of bonus money they would be willing to pay at this time. I have spent quite a bit of time over the past several days dealing with calls from the folks that I leased up there because they received the unit application notice. The moratorium will only speed up the Haynesville Shale, but that is just my opinion. Call the Petrohawk office in Shreveport and talk to someone in their land department.
