What is the longest lateral in the Haynesville? How about the greatest number of Frac Stages? I'm assuming that with the longer the lateral and greater number of Frac Stages - comes the greatest amount of gas!!!!

PG, its is not technically feasible to refrac a multi-stage frac'ed horizontal Haynesville Shale well.

Re-frac's were utilized for a few vertical Barnett Shale wells.
John, I have seen at least two Louisiana Haynesville Shale wells with 20 frac stages. Most Haynesville Shale wells in Lousiana cannot exceed 4620 ft due to the spacing rules (5280 - 2 * 330).
What exactly is a 'frac stage'?

JNP, the Haynesville Shale wells are completed with multiple separate hydraulic fracture treatments and each separate treatment is referred to as a frac stage.  Each frac stage will be separated by a casing plug.  These plugs are drilled out when the well is ready to be brought on production.

Thanks Les B. You're a wealth of knowledge.
Les, If a well is 'flowing back' does that mean that the frac process is complete?
Missy, yes - that should be correct.  Fracing completed, drilled out plugs, flowing back, turn to sales ($$$$).
Brasch Family 3H, #239,839, S3, 13N, 13W, has 23 frac stages. CHK well at 22+ mmcfd IP.
The Chad Ellis 2H (Samson Lonestar in Harrison County, Texas) was just completed with a 6232' lateral and 20 frac stages. The well IP'd at 10.4MMCF with 8000lbs of downhole pressure on a 22/64 choke. Samson was unable to open choke further due to pipeline constraints.
Nothing like reporting a nice well with your name on it. Or is that some other Ellis family?
No, it's mine. I'm glad that Sampson appears to be using the HK model. They're not pulling it hard and the flow rates and pressures have remained steady over the 1st month of production. As a note, the well was permited for a 6800' lateral but is producing from 6232'.
