Standard governmental townships contain 36 sections.  Each section is one mile square.  Most Haynesville Shale (HA) units are a section but not all.  Some incorporate lands in more than one section.  Do  you know your township?
my division order says, Sec 16-11N-15W.  I know there is another well on this unit, have not rec'd division orders for that one yet. I was wondering how about how many wells could be on a unit.  Maybe this makes since to you, because it sure dont to me.  Thank You, Linda
linda, there is only one well in your unit, Chesapeake McCoy 16-11-15H.  The state spacing for Hanynesville shale wells is 80 acres.  So every standard governmental section (640 acres) qualifies for 8 wells.  The operator, in your case Chesapeake, is not required to drill 8 wells but they may do so if they choose.  The production of the McCoy 16-11-15H is quite poor.  Chesapeake may choose to drill Bossier shale wells in the future now that they have a well to hold their leases in force.  A lot of units in the Logansport Field have sub-par Haynesville production.  That has not stopped Chesapeake from drilling one after another.  The generally prevailing opinion is that they are more interested in the Bossier in this part of the Play.  The good news is that Chesapeake can drill 8 Bossier wells in your unit.

Does  anyone know about the Comstock Ramsey Wells in Logansport area?

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
